Commencement of emergency project to build embankment to prevent landslides in residential area of ​​Pom Han ward, Lao Cai city

The project to build a revetment system to ensure stability for residential areas in groups 13, 14, 15 and the roadbed of 23/9, Pom Han ward includes building a revetment to prevent landslides, a system to collect and drain underground water in the slope and a system of ditches along the road, a traffic safety system, and support for repairing damaged houses of households.

The project is expected to be completed in August 2025 with an investment of about 50 billion VND.

According to the Lao Cai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, during the construction process, the authorities will continue to survey and select the most optimal and effective construction plan. The construction unit will also apply the most advanced and modern technical methods and solutions to carry out the project.

People are excited when the embankment project is implemented.

The construction unit plans to deploy "3 shifts, 4 crews", mobilizing vehicles, human resources, and materials to speed up the project's progress, in order to soon put the project into use as planned, contributing to ensuring safety and stabilizing the lives of local people before the rainy and stormy season.

Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3 ( Yagi ), many houses and traffic routes in groups 13, 14, and 15 of Pom Han ward were seriously damaged by landslides. Lao Cai City urgently moved households to safety; at the same time, organized dialogues to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and proposed an emergency embankment plan to ensure safety.
