Awarding scholarships and breeding cows to people in Lang Son border area

NDO - On the afternoon of April 11, authorized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command and the Lang Son Border Guard Command coordinated with the local Party Committee and authorities of Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province to organize the awarding of scholarships to students and giving breeding cows to households in difficult circumstances.

Over the years, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command have advised the Ministry of National Defense to organize border defense friendship exchanges with countries sharing borders with Vietnam, aiming to strengthen solidarity, cooperation and friendly exchanges between the armies, local authorities and people in the border areas of the two countries, thereby enhancing political exchanges, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, stable and mutually developing border.

The Vietnam-China border has been held 8 times so far, this is the 9th time and the 2nd time in Lang Son province. In each event, the Border Guard Command has presented the people in the border area with many meaningful gifts, contributing to building their lives and developing their economy.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Border Guard, and leaders of Cao Loc district presented scholarships to students.

Over the years, with affection and responsibility for ethnic minorities in border areas, the Border Guard force has advised and coordinated with local authorities to implement many movements, programs and models to help people develop socio-economy and improve their lives.

Typical movements include: "Accompanying women in the border areas", "Warm winter clothes at the border", "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers", "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station", "Breeding cows to help the poor in the border areas", giving away models of Golden Camellia, Bat Do bamboo, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon, building solidarity houses, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the people...

These meaningful actions and works have contributed to the locality, all levels and sectors in helping border residents stabilize and improve their lives, building a comprehensively strong border area.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Border Guard, visited people who received breeding cows.

In this Exchange, authorized by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, the Border Guard Command, the Border Guard Command of Lang Son awarded 50 "Step up to school" scholarships, worth 100 million VND; awarded 20 breeding cows to poor households in the border areas of Cao Loc and Van Lang districts, worth 300 million VND.

Sharing his happiness when receiving breeding cows from the soldiers, Mr. Vi Trung Thanh, Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, said that from these cows, he and his fellow villagers will try to increase production, improve family economy, and together with the people in the area, change the face of the countryside where they live to be more prosperous and happy.

According to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Chief of Politics, Border Guard: In performing tasks at the border, the Border Guard force always determines to closely cooperate with local Party committees and authorities, thereby building a strong national defense, from building strong infrastructure and people's lives in the locality.

Giving breeding cows to poor people in border areas is to encourage disadvantaged families to improve their lives. Through hunger eradication and poverty reduction programs of the border guards, people in border areas can stabilize their lives, feel secure in staying, and together with the Border Guards firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the border.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs, Border Guard and Lieutenant Colonel Ninh Xuan Trong, Chief of Political Affairs, Lang Son Border Guard, presented breeding cows to the people.

It can be said that the activities towards the people in the Border Defense Friendship Exchanges have become an annual activity of the Ministry of National Defense. Although the gifts are not large, they contain the sentiments of the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command as well as officers and soldiers in the entire army towards the local Party committees, authorities, people and students in the border areas. These gifts will actively contribute to encouraging households to overcome difficulties and actively develop their family economy.
