NTO - Implementing the Project to pilot a walking street in Phan Rang City

On March 19, Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the preparation for the implementation of the Project to pilot a walking street in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

According to the draft project, the walking street's operating space includes 16/4, Hoang Dieu and Tran Quang Dieu streets, including 77 OCOP and culinary stalls. The entire walking street space will be divided into 7 areas with themes such as: Mass sports and entertainment space, children's play area, floating water music stage; Bau Truc pottery heritage route, culinary space... Activities in the walking street take place from 6pm to 11pm every Friday and Saturday. At the same time, services will be enhanced on holidays, Tet, and important political events of the locality and the country.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

The project has a total investment capital of about 51,477 billion VND, of which the investment budget capital is about 26,077 billion VND for 2 phases (phase 1 is 7,522 billion VND; phase 2 is 18,555 billion VND); the remaining is socialized capital of 25.4 billion VND. Up to now, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City is implementing a number of components on drainage system, lighting, decorative trees... with a budget of 13 billion VND. The opening ceremony of the walking street is expected to take place on April 27, 2024.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts and determination of the sectors and localities in the implementation of the project. For the project to operate effectively, he requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City and related departments, sectors and units to review and actively complete the project. In particular, focusing on arranging and placing booths reasonably and harmoniously; developing a script for cultural and artistic activities to serve people and tourists; continuing to mobilize businesses and tourism service establishments to participate in booths to promote tours, tourist routes, food stalls, entertainment activities... Assigning the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City to develop a plan for revenue, expenditure and management of the walking street activities to ensure aesthetics, suitability with the actual situation, and compliance with regulations; The Department of Information and Communications shall promote propaganda about the activities of organizing the walking street so that people can know, visit and shop; the Department of Transport and the Provincial Police shall, based on their functions and tasks, coordinate with the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City to have a plan to divide traffic to ensure security and order during the organization of the walking street. The Department of Industry and Trade shall continue to mobilize and invite businesses, cooperatives, and business households to participate in booths promoting special products, OCOP products, and handicraft products, souvenirs, etc. In addition, it is necessary to mobilize more associations, organizations, clubs, dance groups, lion and dragon dances, portrait painting, etc. to participate in performances on the walking street.
