NTO - Implementing the pilot project of walking street in Phan Rang City

On November 21, Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the report on the draft Project to pilot a walking street in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

According to the draft project, the operating space of the walking street includes 16/4, Hoang Dieu and Tran Quang Dieu streets. In terms of time, it is organized into 2 phases: The pilot phase from December 2023 to December 2025 (the opening ceremony of the walking street is expected to take place on the occasion of New Year 2024); the time to organize activities on the walking street is from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. At the same time, increase services on holidays, New Year, and important political events of the locality and the country. In the post-pilot phase, a summary and evaluation of the results of the walking street's operations will be organized. Based on the actual situation and the needs of tourists and people, there will be plans to invest in infrastructure items; cultural and artistic activities, types of services; expand the scale, scope and operating time of the walking street. In terms of content, it includes cultural and artistic activities; culinary activities; service activities, shopping and sports and entertainment activities. The project has a total investment capital of about 51,477 billion VND, of which the investment budget capital is about 26,077 billion VND for 2 phases (phase 1 is 7,522 billion VND; phase 2 is 18,555 billion VND); the remaining is socialized capital of 25.4 billion VND.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee basically agreed with the contents of the project. At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City and related departments, branches and units to review and actively complete the project. In particular, it is necessary to specifically develop a program to organize cultural and artistic activities to serve people and tourists; develop a plan to mobilize clubs and dance groups to participate in street art performances; mobilize businesses and tourism service establishments to participate in booths to promote tours, tourist routes, food stalls, entertainment activities, etc. The People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City was assigned to develop a plan for revenue, expenditure and management of the walking street activities to ensure practicality, efficiency, suitability to the actual situation and compliance with regulations; The Department of Industry and Trade mobilizes and invites businesses, cooperatives, and business households to participate in booths promoting special products, OCOP products, and handicraft products, souvenirs, etc.; the Department of Information and Communications strengthens information and propaganda work on the organization of walking streets so that a large number of people know, visit, and shop; the Department of Transport, based on its functions and tasks, coordinates with the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City to have a plan to organize traffic, arrange routes as bypasses, and divide traffic to ensure smooth traffic during the organization of the walking street...
