"Goodbye, dear mother. Thank you for always missing me and my grandson Trung Ben Tran. We couldn't come back in time to say goodbye, but we will visit you often as we have always visited you over the past months. We love you so much," singer Ngoc Anh wrote.

People's Artist Tuong Vi was born in 1938 in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province. In 1967, she graduated from the Vocal Department of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). In 1974, she studied at the Sofia Conservatory of Music, Bulgaria.

People's Artist Tuong Vi is one of the leading singers of Vietnam's revolutionary music. She is known for a series of famous songs on the radio of the Voice of Vietnam at one time. These include Ta Lu's zither (musician Huy Thuc), You are Po Lang flower (Duc Minh), The girl of La river (Doan Nho), The bird that brings good news (Dam Thanh), The ferryman on Po Co river (Cam Phong, poem by Mai Trang), The shadow of Kơ-nia tree (Phan Thanh Nam, poem by Ngoc Anh)...

However, the audience still remembers the most is The Girl Sharpening Bamboo Spikes (Hoang Hiep, poem by Lo Mo Y Choi) when People's Artist Tuong Vi sang the note Eb6 - a very high note for a female voice and the highest note a Vietnamese singer could reach in a work at that time.

Although not the first person to perform the song Co gai vot tron , People's Artist Tuong Vi used her voice to bring this song to a new peak, creating a big resonance with both professionals and the public. Even musician Hoang Hiep, when he was alive, admitted that the song was performed by singer Tuong Vi very creatively, raising it to a new level, living forever in the hearts of listeners until now.

In addition to singing, People's Artist Tuong Vi is also a multi-talented musician with many famous compositions such as: Phi Doi Ta Xuat Kich, Que Huong Anh La Bien Ca, Em Nghe Tieng Doi, ... Along with that are songs written for children such as: Doi Cho Em Nhung Noc Nhac Vui, Trai Tim Oi Dung Buon, Uoc Mo Cua Be La Hoa Binh...

Later, she became a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. During her time there, she trained many famous artists such as Dong Quang Vinh, Giang Son, Khanh Thi, etc.

In addition, she was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Musicians Association from 1962 to 1982.

For her contributions to the music career, she was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 1984 and the title of People's Artist in 1993. She was also honored to be a rare artist whose name was listed in the Vietnam Military Encyclopedia, published in 1996.
