Nam Cuong Agricultural Production, Business and Service Cooperative (Nam Cuong Cooperative), Yen Cuong commune (Y Yen, Nam Dinh) has formed, maintained and developed a model of growing clean and safe vegetables, creating its own brand in the agricultural product market inside and outside the province, bringing high income to local farmers.

Promoting the strengths of the fertile land, in 2017, the Cooperative built a 5-hectare model of growing vegetables, tubers, and fruits according to VietGap food safety standards, creating a sustainable development direction for agricultural products. The Cooperative also cooperated with more than 10 other farming households to implement the clean vegetable growing process to ensure supply to the market, while expanding the planting area of various types of vegetables, tubers, and fruits to meet the needs of consumers.

Currently, Yen Cuong commune has 20 hectares of safe vegetable growing area, of which 5 hectares of safe vegetable growing model of Nam Cuong Cooperative have been granted VIETGAP certificate.

Safe vegetable growing model in Phu Tho

Recently, the vegetable growing model of Tu Vu Safe Vegetable Cooperative (Thanh Thuy, Phu Tho) has been focusing on developing safe vegetable growing, without using chemicals or pesticides. With that direction, the products of the Cooperative have gradually created trust among consumers, contributed to increasing income for members, and brought efficiency to the Cooperative and local people.

Established in 2017, Tu Vu Safe Vegetable Cooperative has applied science and technology and invested in production. With over 20 hectares of cultivated land, the Cooperative specializes in producing seasonal clean vegetables such as: mustard greens, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, eggplants, eggplants, squash, etc.

According to the Board of Directors of the Cooperative, to ensure the quality of safe vegetables, the Cooperative has focused on investing in building infrastructure such as: factory equipment for the preliminary processing process, ensuring food safety; modern irrigation systems to provide enough clean water for production.

In particular, using a sprinkler system will ensure even watering throughout the vegetable garden, creating suitable humidity, helping vegetables grow and develop well; shortening time, saving irrigation water. Helping to solve the current labor shortage while increasing income for vegetable growers, the average income of a cooperative member is 3.5 million/month.

When joining the Cooperative, members are all trained and instructed on the safe vegetable production process from soil preparation, treatment of pathogens in the soil to avoid the risk of disease in vegetables, seed selection, care, integrated pest management program on vegetables, how to handle and use appropriate biological pesticides... until harvest.

This model requires meticulous steps, from making the soil clean to saying no to chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, the Cooperative also strictly controls the use of pesticides according to the 4 rights principle: right time, right quarantine period, right dosage and right disease.

Therefore, the cooperative's vegetable products are always guaranteed to have no pesticides or other chemical residues in vegetables, tubers, and fruits. This not only protects the direct health of members during the planting, care, and environmental protection process, but is also a strong point that helps Tu Vu safe vegetable products gain a foothold in the market and be purchased at a stable price.
