Since the beginning of March, many tourists have planned to buy domestic and international tours. This year, tourist demand is spread across tourist routes with prices ranging from 3 to 10 million VND/tour.

Customers decide quickly, close deals quickly

On March 28, according to travel and tourism companies in Ho Chi Minh City, tours departing during the holidays this year have many prices and diverse itineraries for customers to choose from. Notably, the prices of many domestic and international tours do not differ much.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (interior business, Go Vap district) said that after two years of economic difficulties, this year the company has recovered with many projects in the coastal city, so the company will let employees organize teambuilding on the occasion of April 30 in Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa province).

"I bought a 3-day, 2-night tour in Nha Trang City, going to the islands for 8.5 million VND/person. Group of 20 people, the fee was 170 million VND but got an additional 5% discount because I was a loyal customer of the travel company on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, District 1. I went on a trip to encourage my colleagues, to have fun and then start pushing the project's progress," said Ms. Lan.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Diem My (Phu Nhuan district) said that during the 3-day holiday on the occasion of Hung King's death anniversary, she bought a tour to Hoi An - Da Nang, combined with visiting her family in Quang Ngai.

"I speak the language near Hoi An ancient town, but I have not experienced all the festival and cultural activities in the old town, as well as the beautiful scenery in Ba Na and Son Tra island. I bought a tour with my child's parents, the price is 9 million VND, 3 days 2 nights", said Ms. My.

The holiday on April 30th lasts 5 days, so Ms. My bought a Singapore - Malaysia tour, lasting 4 days and 3 nights, for more than 17 million VND/person after comparing with different travel companies.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Chi (sales staff of a travel company on Tran Quoc Thao Street, District 3) also informed that compared to March last year, the number of tours sold by the company increased by 40%.

"In March, the weather is hot, so domestic tourists choose destinations with cool climates and long vacations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hoi An, Da Lat, Sa Pa. In particular, there are many groups of family customers buying tours, closing orders very quickly," said Ms. Lan Chi.

Green tourism trends, community tourism

Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu (representative of Vietluxtour Travel Company) said that up to this point, many tourists have contacted to consult about tours and choose domestic tours related to the sea. For foreign tours, the most popular routes are Thailand, China, and Korea. It is expected that during the holiday, the number of visitors in all markets and destinations will increase by about 30% compared to the same period in 2024.

"The prices of domestic and international tourism products are very stable. Airfares have increased, so some domestic tours are more affordable. To get a good price and more options, tourists should book tours early to enjoy many promotional programs," said Ms. Thu.

Talking to Tuoi Tre reporter , Mr. Pham Minh Nhut (permanent vice president of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association) said that regarding this year's summer tourism trend, besides sea tourism which is the locality's strength, it is forecasted that the trend of green tourism and community tourism will explode.

According to Mr. Nhut, in recent years, tourists coming to Nha Trang during the summer tourist season often tend to go to green tourist areas, tourist areas in the outskirts of Nha Trang, especially attracting domestic tourists.

In fact, many tourist units and locations have begun to proactively exploit potentials to diversify products, focusing on developing green tourism programs, instead of just focusing on beach resort tourism products.

"We are also coordinating with many local tourism units and businesses to organize tours to the countryside, traditional cultural heritage areas, experience green tourism activities, community tourism, and cruises to bays in many other places," Mr. Nhut informed.

Mr. Nhut said that the Ministry of Education and Training is limiting the organization of extra classes during the summer, which also brings the hope of developing a customer base among school-age children, when they have a full summer to travel.

However, the boom in the number of tourists this summer will not be significant, because families usually have plans for their children to travel each summer. Therefore, the forecast for summer tour prices is not expected to fluctuate much.

Be careful with cheap summer tours

Currently, there are also "cheap domestic summer tours" appearing on the market. For example, the 2025 summer tour itinerary Dien Bien - A Pa Chai - Moc Chau - Bach Long glass bridge, 4 days 3 nights, staying at 2-3 star hotels, a travel company is selling it for more than 8.5 million VND.

Or travel to Nha Trang, 4-island tour including Binh Hung Island - Vinwonders - Ponagar Tower - Stone Church - Ninh Chu... only costs 7 - 8 million VND for a 2-day, 3-night trip.

Amidst the "forest" of tours during peak season, to buy the right quality tour experience, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh (chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association) recommends that tour buyers should not "crave" cheap itineraries, because "you get what you pay for".

"During the tourist season, many travel companies will appear to sell tours to welcome customers. There are many promotional packages with very attractive itinerary names, customers will want to buy them right away, but many times it is a frustrating experience. Customers need to pay attention to choosing reputable travel companies, popular itineraries, and carefully read the feedback of previous customers... before buying a tour," Ms. Khanh advised.
