Many top universities double enrollment targets

Many top schools in Hanoi announced their enrollment targets and methods for 2025, attracting the attention of candidates and parents.

This year, Hanoi National University will enroll 20,285 full-time undergraduate students for 12 member schools, an increase of 2,285 compared to last year. Of which, the University of Technology is assigned the largest enrollment target with 3,900 students (an increase of 940 students).

Next is the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with 2,650 quotas (an increase of 350 quotas); the University of Economics with 2,500 quotas (an increase of 150 quotas) and the University of Foreign Languages ​​with 2,400 quotas (an increase of 400 quotas).

In addition, Hanoi National University also assigned 1,500 enrollment quotas for the work-study program and 810 dual degree quotas to a number of training institutions.

This year, Hanoi National University of Education will enroll 4,995 students (an increase of nearly 600 students compared to last year), based on 3 admission methods: admission based on high school graduation exam scores; direct admission, giving priority to candidates with outstanding abilities and achievements; admission based on the 2025 capacity assessment exam scores organized by the school.

Meanwhile, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 recruits 4,131 students for 26 training majors (double the number of students compared to 2024) with 10 admission methods in 2025. This is also the first year that the school organizes an independent exam for regular university admission with 8 subjects, including: Math, Literature, Biology, English, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 9,680 students (an increase of 420 compared to last year) based on 3 methods: talent selection, selection based on thinking assessment test scores, and selection based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores.

With talent selection, the school recruits directly, based on international certificates and capacity profile review combined with interviews. Candidates in this category include national and international excellent students; average study score of each year in grades 10, 11, 12 from 8 or higher, and have SAT or ACT certificates; achieved good academic performance in high school and participated in provincial excellent student competitions, Olympia competitions of a month or more, and specialized students.

Hanoi University of Pharmacy plans to enroll 940 students. The Pharmacy major has the largest enrollment quota of 760 students, including 30 for the joint program with the University of Sydney, Australia.

The school maintains 4 stable admission methods, including: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission combined with academic records and SAT certificates, considering academic records for specialized students or considering A-level certificates (British higher education certificates); admission based on thinking assessment test scores; considering high school graduation exam scores.

This is also the first year that Hanoi University of Pharmacy will consider candidates with A-level certificates. Candidates need to have the results of three subjects according to the admission combination in each major reaching 80/100 points or higher, in which Chemistry must score at least 90/100.

Foreign Trade University plans to enroll 4,150 students (an increase of 20 students compared to last year) through 4 methods, including: admission using high school academic results when meeting the school's quality assurance conditions; admission using the 2025 high school graduation exam results; admission using domestic and international competency assessment certificates; direct admission according to regulations.

The Academy of Finance plans to recruit 6,320 students (an increase of 1,820 students compared to last year), including 3,300 students for international certificate-oriented programs; 2,700 students for standard programs; and 320 students for international joint programs with many new open training programs/majors.

Regarding admission methods, the academy applies 4 methods, including: direct admission and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission of candidates with outstanding abilities; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; combined admission.

Banking Academy plans to enroll 3,644 students (an increase of more than 100 students compared to last year) through 5 admission methods including: direct admission; admission based on high school academic results; admission based on international certificate results; admission based on the results of competency assessment exams; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school exam.

Hanoi University of Industry plans to enroll 7,990 students (an increase of 340 students compared to last year) for 62 majors/training programs. The school applies 5 methods, including: direct admission with no limit on enrollment; admission based on international certificate scores/excellent student awards combined with the total score of all three years of high school for 3 subjects in a group; admission based on high school graduation exam results; admission based on the results of the competency and thinking assessment test combined with academic records.
