The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club VND500 million after the team qualified for the semi-finals of the AFC Women's Champions League. The Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) also awarded the home team VND200 million.
In addition, the representative of Vietnamese football earned an additional 120 thousand USD (about 3 billion VND) in bonus from the tournament organizers, according to the regulations announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Thus, for reaching the semi-finals of the Asian tournament alone, Ho Chi Minh City Club was awarded 3.7 billion VND.
Ho Chi Minh City Club earned a bonus of up to 3.7 billion VND after an unbelievable comeback in the Asian Cup.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City FC earned 220,000 USD (5.6 billion VND) according to the tournament's regulations for reaching the quarterfinals. Of which, 100,000 USD was the participation fee support that all teams received. Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and her team won 2 victories in the group stage, each match corresponding to 20,000 USD. In addition, AFC stipulated the bonus for teams reaching the quarterfinals at 80,000 USD.
The Vietnam Football Federation also awarded Ho Chi Minh City FC 300 million VND after the group stage. Including all the above items, the bonus for this team is up to 9.6 billion VND. This is an unprecedented bonus for a Vietnamese women's football club. Previously, only the national team received a bonus of up to nearly 10 billion VND for a tournament.
Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City Club has played 4 matches in the AFC Women's Champions League 2024-2025 season with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss. On the evening of March 22, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and her team created an unbelievable comeback in the quarter-finals.
The Vietnamese representative was led 0-3 by their opponent Abu Dhabi (UAE) in the first half. However, 5 goals in the last 30 minutes of the match helped Ho Chi Minh City Club turn the situation around and win 5-4.
