Many special events at the 10th Ao Dai Festival

On the morning of March 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism organized an information session on the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai". This is also an event marking the 10-year development milestone and continuing to maintain programs and activities in response to the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival, developing the Festival into a unique annual cultural and tourism product.

The 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival was held with diverse activities that are highly interactive with the community.

Accordingly, the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will have the participation of more than 20 guests, famous people working in many fields such as politics, economics, beauty queens, singers, actors, travel bloggers, etc. as image ambassadors.

In addition, the festival also received the participation of 30 famous Ao Dai designers from many localities across the country with special collections expressing the unique cultural identity of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and collections designed specifically for the festival along with impressive collections of Ao Dai for children.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival with the theme I love Vietnamese Ao Dai in 2024 will be held with diverse activities that are highly interactive with the community. Coming to the Festival, visitors will be able to admire many unique Ao Dai collections from 30 leading Ao Dai designers nationwide with the participation of 22 artists, celebrities, beauty queens, runners-up... as image ambassadors for the Festival.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival is not only a unique cultural tourism product but also an important economic development driver of the city, contributing to promoting economic growth in tourism and bringing significant revenue to local businesses.

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival includes a series of activities held at the following locations: President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Lam Son Park, Youth Cultural House, Ao Dai Museum, Saigon Thu Duc Riverside Park... and at historical sites, cultural sites, tourist destinations, and constructions in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, the opening program of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival took place on the evening of March 7 at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street. The program includes 2 chapters: "Ao Dai - Vietnamese Soul, Vietnamese Culture" and "Ao Dai to the World".

On the opening night, the public will be able to admire outstanding ao dai collections meticulously crafted by the skillful and creative hands of famous ao dai designers, not only imbued with national pride but also contributing to preserving the quintessence of Vietnamese culture.

The Ao Dai performance is scheduled to take place on the morning of March 8 at Nguyen Hue walking street. This is also an event to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day on March 8 with the highlight being the Ao Dai performance with the participation of about 5,000 people of different ages and genders.

This is the 10th time the festival has been held, so there will be a series of big events waiting for domestic and foreign tourists to experience, explore and spread the image of the Ao Dai.

The art program with the theme "Ao Dai - Colors of Ho Chi Minh City" took place on the evening of March 8 at President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue walking street, aiming to orient the aesthetics and trend of using Ao Dai in the daily life of the city's people through creative, artistic designs while still preserving the traditional values ​​of Vietnamese Ao Dai.

The exhibition and interaction space with Ao Dai takes place from March 7 to 17 in the Nguyen Hue walking street area, Lam Son Park, the exhibition area of ​​the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) and other tourist destinations in the city with display clusters, exhibitions of information about the development history of Ao Dai through the ages, the 10-year development journey of the festival, areas introducing products associated with Ao Dai such as fabrics, silk, accessories...

The seminar "The beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai and international integration" had the participation of the female consul general, the consul general's wife and officials working at diplomatic agencies, international delegations in the city attending the session to introduce the history of Ao Dai in the life of Vietnamese people, promote the value of Ao Dai and advise on choosing suitable Ao Dai, contributing to promoting tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, creating an environment for cultural exchange between countries, bringing Ao Dai closer and more closely to international friends.

The "Charming Ao Dai Ho Chi Minh City" contest, the Ao Dai drawing contest, the online Ao Dai contest with the theme "Ao Dai and 100 interesting things of Ho Chi Minh City", and the logo design contest to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Ao Dai Festival Ho Chi Minh City will also take place within the framework of the Ao Dai Festival Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, the organizing committee also built a stimulus program to reduce ticket prices for art performances to attract visitors to the city during the 2024 Ao Dai Festival.

Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival is an annual cultural - tourism activity of the city's tourism industry. Through 9 times of organization, the festival has received positive responses from the city's residents, domestic and international tourists, contributing to honoring the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai, preserving and promoting traditional values ​​of the nation.

The Organizing Committee hopes that the activities in the City Ao Dai Festival will create a widespread and positive response from the people and tourists; especially civil servants, public employees, and female workers who will respond by wearing Ao Dai in public reception activities and at the office during the Festival.
