The buying and selling of recording equipment is taking place vigorously, with many parents and students participating, according to a representative of the Ministry of Public Security.
At the conference to deploy the high school graduation exam with 63 provinces and cities of the Ministry of Education and Training, on the morning of June 15, Major General Le Minh Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Ministry of Public Security, said that the police have checked many groups related to the purchase and sale of recording and video recording devices that can be used to cheat in exams.
Through this, the professional department discovered that many parents and students bought these devices. This group often bought devices on the market such as headphones and separate transceivers.
Currently, many websites are also selling devices for the purpose of cheating on exams. Mr. Manh said that the Ministry of Public Security has trained local police forces on methods to detect and prevent these activities.
Regarding the methods and tricks of using high-tech devices to cheat, according to Mr. Manh, there is nothing new. Students still mainly use recording devices, video recording devices, miniature headphones, broadcasting devices, and communication devices to transmit information and images to the outside. Then, the outside support team will solve the questions and send the answers in.
"This is an issue that is warned about every year, but the fraud situation is becoming more and more sophisticated," said Mr. Manh.
The representative of the Ministry of Public Security reminded localities, especially exam supervisors, to proactively detect and promptly discuss with the relevant authorities to handle cheating situations. In particular, exam supervisors need to pay attention to camouflage devices such as watches, clothes, earrings, and pocket calculators.

In addition to preventing cheating in the exam room, according to the representative of the Ministry of Public Security, ensuring safety in the stages of the exam such as printing and transporting the exam papers is also very important. Many stages are carried out on computers, while the situation of insecurity in cyberspace is very complicated.
Mr. Manh said that recently, when checking at some examination sites, the professional departments discovered some factors that could affect the security and safety of the examination. For example, some devices at the examination storage area were still connected to wifi, and the examination storage room had a wifi transmitter.
"Localities must disconnect all or remove these connectors. Exam rooms and examination rooms with Internet connections must be disconnected, the network terminals must be sealed, and the entire camera system must be disabled," Mr. Manh emphasized.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to coordinate with the professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security in training and thoroughly disseminating information with a preventive spirit, not allowing the situation of taking advantage of high technology to cheat on exams.
This year, more than one million candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. The number of candidates taking both the graduation exam and university entrance exam is more than 943,000.
