(CLO) During 4 days from December 19 to 22, 2024, the working delegation of the Representative Office of the Public Security Communications Department in Ho Chi Minh City (Ministry of Public Security) coordinated with the volunteer group of the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) to organize the program "Warm Tet" in 2024 in Ha Giang province.
At the program, the delegation visited schools to present 284 winter coats, 284 woolen hats, 284 pairs of sandals, 1,420 pairs of socks, more than 3,000 notebooks, 250 packages of cakes, milk, dry food, etc. to 284 students at the following schools: Hang De Kindergarten; Tru Lung Tren A, Khau Vai Commune, Meo Vac District; Yen Cuong Kindergarten, Bac Me District; Sa Phin Kindergarten, Lung Cu Commune, Dong Van District; Mo Nha Cao Kindergarten, Lung Tam Commune and Lung Hau Kindergarten, Thai An Commune, Quan Ba District.

In addition to giving gifts directly to students at kindergartens, the delegation also gave 50 boxes of foam mats, 150 velvet blankets and supported the construction, repair, upgrade, and purchase of water supply equipment for Sa Phin Kindergarten, Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district... In addition, the delegation also gave more than 200 gifts to 200 poor households, including: rice, cooking oil, sugar and cash of 300,000 VND for each poor household in border communes... the total value of these activities was nearly 1 billion VND.

Previously, on December 21, at the Border Belt area of Landmark 411, in Ma Lau B village, Ma Le commune, Dong Van district, Lung Cu Border Guard Station (Ha Giang Provincial Border Guard Command) coordinated with agencies, units, and benefactors to organize the "Border Green Belt" tree planting campaign in 2024.

The "Green Border Belt" tree planting program is a concretization of the implementation of Uncle Ho's teachings on tree planting and afforestation; practically responding to the "Green Border Journey", contributing to the successful implementation of the Prime Minister's Project on planting 1 billion trees and Resolution No. 16 dated October 10, 2021 of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee on sustainable forestry development in the period 2021 - 2025.
The program contributes to widespread propaganda, raising awareness for cadres, soldiers; cadres, civil servants, public employees and people of all walks of life in the area about the position, role, value and significance of afforestation. In particular, it creates the image of a green border, a peaceful border; helps regulate the climate, creates landscapes, ecological environment, contributes to tourism development; minimizes impacts from nature such as: erosion, landslides, and at the same time brings practical economic benefits to the people.
At the launching ceremony, the participating forces planted 5,000 sa moc trees on an area of 0.5 hectares, forming a channel 400 meters long and 125 meters wide along the border, 20 to 100 meters from the border towards Vietnam. Sa moc is a type of tree belonging to the Hoang Dan group, with a mature height of 50-55 meters. Sa moc wood is soft, fragrant, popular in the market, coniferous and easy to grow in cold weather areas.

Lieutenant Colonel Kim Xuan Giang - Head of Lung Cu Border Guard Station said that when the first phase of the "Green Border Belt" tree planting program was implemented, the meaning and benefits of the activity had spread widely to the awareness and responsibility of the people in planting and protecting forests associated with the cause of national construction and development.
The green shoots of the first phase have taken root and grown. Natural fences and green fences on the border have gradually been formed, contributing to affirming the country's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and improving the effectiveness of border management work of the Border Guard.
Colonel Nguyen Quang Quyet - Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Ha Giang Provincial Border Guard said: The Standing Committee and the Ha Giang Border Guard Command have developed a Resolution, led and directed specialized agencies to develop an implementation plan with the aim of building a green border program, a peaceful border.

“In addition, planting trees and afforestation also creates a landscape for local development, while contributing to improving the climate and weather. In addition to greening bare hills, this activity also has the power to spread to all cadres, soldiers, local authorities and people to join hands in responding to this movement,” Colonel Nguyen Quang Quyet added.
