According to Business Insider , Nvidia's market value has increased by 1,200% in the past five years. This means that the company's longest-serving employees, who receive various shares as a bonus for their contracts, are easily becoming millionaires.
Becoming a millionaire has made longtime Nvidia employees lazier
But here’s the thing. When someone has a lot of money, they start to get lazy. This is evident when many new employees at Nvidia have problems with the veteran employees not doing their jobs. As a result, their productivity drops dramatically and the responsibilities that they should be taking on fall onto the new employees. Despite this laziness, Nvidia has not had a single layoff since 2008.
Any company, especially one focused on technology, has a system for evaluating employee performance. However, Nvidia does not have such a program, meaning employees will not be adjusted when their productivity declines. It is clear that becoming a millionaire will cause employees at Nvidia to decrease their productivity because they do not have a financial goal for their monthly work.
