Looking at the sad story of a teacher being insulted and having her sandals thrown at her by students, journalist Pham Trung Tuyen, Deputy Director of VOV Traffic Channel, Voice of Vietnam, believes that a person's personality is not something that can be taught in a few hours of study but must be nurtured throughout life.

At the Government press conference on the afternoon of December 6, regarding the incident in Tuyen Quang where a group of students pushed a female teacher against a wall to curse and insult her, the press asked the Ministry of Education and Training about how to handle the situation to avoid similar incidents from happening in the future.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that the Ministry has sent a document to Tuyen Quang province requesting the province to direct the verification and clarification of the incident. "The incident is very serious and unacceptable... It is necessary to determine the responsibility of teachers, schools, students or groups to have immediate solutions, rectify and learn from this experience," the Deputy Minister of Education and Training emphasized.

Therefore, the Ministry requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct the department and school to clarify the cause and responsibility of the parties involved. "We are all concerned about the incident, but we still need to clarify the cause and investigate the issue objectively, thoroughly and fully. On that basis, there must be strict handling measures," said Mr. Son.

According to Mr. Son, in the immediate future, the education sector must have measures to discipline students in specific cases, but in the long term, it must educate and manage; in which, in relation to education, it is necessary to review the teaching staff.

“We respect teachers very much, but we must review and re-evaluate the teaching staff from the training process, expertise, qualities to skills in the teaching process. The review and evaluation should not only apply to subject teachers, but also to homeroom teachers and teachers in the school,” said Mr. Son.

In addition, the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training also said that it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning, strengthen moral education... For schools, it is necessary to regularly monitor and evaluate students to detect and prevent incidents early.

At the same time, the education sector also needs to pay attention to teacher-student relationships, student relationships in the classroom, student psychology... Parents also need to pay attention to their children because education is not only in school.
