Southern labor sector teachers meet on November 20

(Dan Tri) - Over the past 48 years, teachers at the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Campus II, have trained over 50,000 cadres for the country's labor sector.

On November 16, on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), the University of Labor and Social Affairs (ULSA) Campus II in Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held a rally to welcome and review the teaching and learning traditions at the Southern labor training school with 48 years of history.

On behalf of the Party Committee and Board of Directors, Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Vice Principal in charge of the University of Labor and Social Affairs, sent congratulations and expressed gratitude to veteran teachers, teachers and all cadres, civil servants, and workers who have been and are contributing to the school.

Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh said that over the past 48 years, the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Campus II, has continuously developed in all aspects, training over 50,000 cadres and workers with professional qualifications and ethics for the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector; training and fostering knowledge for hundreds of thousands of cadres of the sector.

"From the early days with only a few hundred students, the school's annual student intake has now reached nearly 5,000 students. The school currently has nearly 200 staff members, including 26 PhDs (accounting for 21% of the total number of lecturers), 19 graduate students and 127 masters. The school has trained 11 undergraduate majors, 2 master's courses in human resource management and social work, and has cooperated with prestigious educational institutions at home and abroad at the postgraduate level," said Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh.

In particular, the facilities of the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Campus II, have been gradually upgraded synchronously. Most recently, the school has put into use two lecture halls with a total area of ​​over 10,000m2 with modern equipment.

Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh added: "In the 2024-2025 school year, the university enrollment rate of the school will reach 100%, and the entrance score will increase. The school's training management is always carried out in accordance with regulations; quality management and testing are guaranteed...".

At the same time, the school's scientific research and international cooperation activities have many positive changes, the scale and number of topics continue to increase. In particular, the number of articles published in journals increased by nearly 43%, the number of articles published in international conferences increased by nearly 93%...

International cooperation activities are also prominent. The school continues to organize a short-term scholarship program for students to study at the University of Freiburg (Federal Republic of Germany) in the 2024-2025 academic year, signed 5 new cooperation agreements, signed the next phase of cooperation with Olive Tree Estates (Singapore)...

Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh emphasized: "Achieving such encouraging results is due to the efforts of all generations of staff and students of the school, in which the team of teachers plays a very important role. The previous generation of teachers of the school has been and will always be bright examples of overcoming all difficulties, bringing the school to steady development step by step in the conditions of the country with many difficulties and shortages."

On this occasion, the school also organized the awarding of the “For the cause of education” medal and the certificate of merit from the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to outstanding groups and individuals. At the same time, Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh presented flowers to congratulate 3 lecturers who have just obtained doctoral degrees this year.

After the celebration, the students currently studying at the school and the current lecturers had the opportunity to meet and talk with the veteran teachers who used to work here, now retired, to learn more about the expertise and rich training history of the school.

Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh sent his gratitude to the teachers who have been and are working at the school: "Because of the trust and sense of responsibility, many generations of teachers have devoted their lives to the education cause in general and to the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Campus II in this beloved Ho Chi Minh City."
