Specifically, traders in Hanoi are buying live pigs at 70,000 VND, the highest price in the region.
After increasing the price, traders in Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, and Ha Nam are purchasing live pigs at 69,000 VND/kg, equal to the price in Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, and Thai Binh.

Also increasing the price by 1, traders in Yen Bai and Hai Duong are purchasing live pigs at 68,000 VND/kg, equal to that in Ha Nam, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, and Ninh Binh.
On the other hand, traders in Lao Cai and Nam Dinh are purchasing live pigs at 67,000 VND/kg, the lowest price in the region.

In this area, the price of live pigs today is stable and fluctuates between 63,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, traders in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa are purchasing live pigs at 67,000 VND/kg, the highest price in the region.
After increasing the price by 1, traders in Dak Lak are buying live pigs at 65,000 VND/kg, equal to the price in Quang Binh, Lam Dong, Quang Nam, and Ha Tinh.
On the other hand, traders in Ninh Thuan are purchasing live pigs at 63,000 VND/kg, the lowest price in the region.
The remaining localities recorded live pig prices at 64,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region, the price of live pigs today also increased following the general trend and fluctuated between 63,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, after increasing the price by 1, traders in Dong Nai and Binh Duong are purchasing live pigs at 66,000 VND/kg, recording this as the highest selling price in the region.
After increasing the price, traders in An Giang are buying live pigs at 65,000 VND/kg, equal to those in Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Ca Mau, and Ho Chi Minh City.
On the other hand, traders in Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, and Tra Vinh are purchasing live pigs at 63,000 VND/kg, which is the lowest price in the region.
The remaining localities recorded live pig prices at 64,000 VND/kg.
In general, the price of live pigs today continues to increase rapidly in the North and is quite stable in the other two regions. Currently, the surveyed price nationwide fluctuates between 63,000 - 70,000 VND/kg.
The September 2024 stock market strategy report of An Binh Securities Joint Stock Company (ABS) said that the price of live pigs will continue to stay high.
Prices have maintained an upward trend since the beginning of the year, the average price nationwide has increased from 50,000 VND/kg (beginning of the year) to more than 64,000 VND/kg (currently), the highest price has reached 70,000 VND/kg.
In addition, the African swine fever outbreak that re-emerged earlier this year has caused farmers and businesses to limit herd restoration, so the upward trend in pork prices will continue as long as the epidemic continues.
The recent storms and floods in the North have somewhat reduced the supply of pork to the market, because in reality, domestic supply is in short supply. From there, the price has been pushed up positively.
In addition, prices of commodities for animal feed production such as corn and soybean meal have been at rock bottom since 2022. This helps to significantly save production costs, support farmers, and maintain and expand the profit margins of livestock companies if they can manage disease risks and supply a large amount of pork to the market.
