Generations of photographers, from veteran photographers to war correspondents and photographers during the renovation period, have devoted themselves to building a technically advanced Vietnamese photography that is imbued with national identity. They have contributed to creating a treasure trove of cultural heritage, helping future generations better understand the historical moments, sacrifices and aspirations of the nation in the process of development.

Like a “full kite”, An Giang photography has taken off, reaped many achievements, and continued to affirm its own strength and color. Photographers in An Giang have contributed greatly to photography activities nationwide. With its rich natural scenery, diverse culture and hospitable people, An Giang has become an endless source of inspiration for many photographers. The works not only reflect the beauty of the homeland, but also preserve historical moments and social life.

A typical example is NSNA Nguyen Phuong Ngoan (Title of NSNA Excellent Contribution ES.VAPA), he used to be a war correspondent who recorded photos of the resistance war of the army and people of An Giang. His collection of documentary photos is a valuable heritage, helping us understand more about the hardships of our army and people during the resistance war, the images showing the heroic resilience in defeating foreign invaders, bringing independence and freedom to the nation...

Recently, there is NSNA Cao Minh Det. He is the person with the highest achievements and the most awards among the NSNAs in An Giang. Notably, at the end of 2024, he won a major photography award, the Bronze Medal of the 3rd national competition and exhibition "Proud of a border strip" in 2024, organized by the Central Propaganda Department; second prize and consolation prize of the National Photo Contest on the Vietnam People's Army and National Defense organized by the General Department of Politics - Central Propaganda Department and the Vietnam Association of Photographers...

In addition, there is also artist Nguyen Hoang Nam who has contributed to An Giang photography in particular and the whole country in general with photos of high artistic value. Author Tran Loc won the Silver Medal (with the work "Raising basa fish for export") and artist Huynh Phuc Hau won the consolation prize with the work "For healthy hearts" at the 39th Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival in Vinh Long... And there are many famous artists, such as: artist Nguyen Long, artist Huynh Phuc Hau, artist Tran Kim Luan, artist Vo Trung Kien, artist Nguyen Nham, artist Nguyen Phuc Doan...

One of the outstanding activities of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations in early 2025 was to coordinate with the Department of Health to successfully organize a Literature and Art Creation Camp on the medical sector. The field of photography contributed greatly to the success of the creation camp with nearly 180 photographic works. The organizing committee selected 70 of the best photos for exhibition and propaganda, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of the medical sector. The works all demonstrate the spirit of serious artistic work, dedication, exploration and social responsibility of the artists. Many photographic works have truly touched the hearts of viewers, when expressing the psychological depth, the personal feelings that few people see behind the white blouse. Those are the long nights on duty, the life-and-death decisions in the operating room, the tears of patients when they are saved, or the anxiety and excitement of relatives waiting for news from the doctor...

According to artist Bui Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, he acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Photography Association and the photographers in the past year, especially the veteran photographers and the talented young photographers whose works have contributed to the development of the province and the provincial photography industry. Thereby, he hopes that today's generation will continue to preserve and promote their passion for the profession, create works of aesthetic and ideological value, serve the public, as well as contribute to political tasks...

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Thi Hong Loan said that the mission placed on the shoulders of artists in general and NSNA in particular is heavy, but glorious, not only creating works of artistic value, but also having a great responsibility in serving the development of the locality and the country. Because art is not just pure creativity, but also must be associated with responsibility, respect for cultural values ​​and social responsibility. I hope that artists will firmly believe in the leadership of the Party, uphold the sense of responsibility of the photographer, and enthusiasm in artistic creation. These works not only promote the beauty of An Giang, but also contribute to building a cultural bridge, bringing the image of An Giang people and land to domestic and international friends...
