Revealing the cast of actors who will transform into the 'monster quartet' The Beatles

CNN (USA) reported on April 1 that Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes will direct four separate biographical films telling the story of The Beatles through the perspective of each band member.

On the same day, Sony Pictures Entertainment posted on social media confirming that young actors Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Paul Mescal will transform into famous singer Paul McCartney, Irish actor Barry Keoghan will play drummer Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn will play lead guitarist George Harrison.

Paul Mescal - Paul McCartney

According to People, Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal will play the legendary singer Paul McCartney. McCartney won 18 Grammy Awards throughout his career.

Paul Mescal first made his mark in Hulu's 2020 adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel Normal People. The 29-year-old Irish actor then gained wider recognition for starring in 2022's Aftersun and 2024's Gladiator II.

Harris Dickinson - John Lennon

Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, the late guitarist who co-wrote many of The Beatles' songs. He died on December 8, 1980, at the age of 40, after being shot outside his Manhattan apartment.

In December 2024, when rumors of casting for a Beatles biopic surfaced, British actor Dickinson told Variety: "It would be great to do it. Obviously, John Lennon is a very complex role, a very powerful character and not an easy one to play. It would be very interesting."

Dickinson first made his mark in the 2017 film Beach Rats, followed by roles in Triangle of Sadness in 2022 and The Iron Claw the following year. More recently, he starred in Babygirl alongside Nicole Kidman.

Barry Keoghan - Ringo Starr

33-year-old actor Barry Keoghan will play Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Starr joined The Beatles in 1962 to replace drummer Pete Best and went on to have a solo career after the band split in 1970.

Keoghan gave a critically acclaimed performance in the 2022 film “The Banshees of Inisherin.” He then made his mark in the 2023 comedy-horror film Saltburn.

Joseph Quinn - George Harrison

British actor Joseph Quinn will play lead guitarist George Harrison, who died of lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 58.

The Beatles biopic will mark a reunion for actors Quinn and Mescal, who both appeared in 2024's Gladiator II. Quinn is also known for his roles in the TV series Stranger Things and the 2024 horror film A Quiet Place: Day One.
