Celebrate victory but still obey traffic laws, do not run red lights

Crowds of people in Ho Chi Minh City took to the streets to celebrate the victory of the Vietnamese team.

It was noted that some roads in the city center were temporarily closed to traffic by authorities due to the large number of people and vehicles arriving. Fans traveling by car had to change direction or choose another route. However, the traffic situation was generally quite stable, without prolonged congestion or chaos.

People everywhere carried flags, trumpets and drums, shouting "Vietnam is the champion" in extreme joy. It is worth noting that the vast majority of people strictly followed the Traffic Law, reminding each other not to run red lights with the slogan "Safety first". Many people patiently waited for red lights at intersections, showing that community awareness has been significantly raised after Decree 168/2024/ND-CP increasing traffic fines officially took effect from January 1, 2025.

Authorities are present on most roads to regulate traffic and ensure safety for people participating in traffic.

People stopped straight and patiently waited for the red light to turn green, then continued their victorious fun.

Mr. Tran Hong Tien (born in 1994, living in District 5) shared that he was very excited when the Vietnamese team won the championship. Right after watching the final results, he and his friends immediately made an appointment to "go storm".

Mr. Tien said that the atmosphere on such occasions is always filled with national spirit, everyone is excited, sometimes too much fun that people become impatient, running red lights. However, with the new regulations in the decree increasing traffic fines being widely applied, people have become more conscious, know how to maintain public order, thereby avoiding chaos or running red lights.

Similarly, Ms. Dinh My Huyen Trang (born in 1991, residing in District 10) also shared her joyful feelings when she took to the streets with everyone to celebrate the team's victory. The streets were extremely bustling with many people participating, although the large amount of traffic caused congestion in some areas. However, thanks to the effective support from the traffic police and militia in regulating traffic, people had less trouble moving around.

Ms. Trang also expressed satisfaction when she noticed that red light violations almost never happened: "If a vehicle accidentally goes a little past the stop line, everyone is aware and proactively backs up to avoid violating. There are still cases of being fined by the traffic police along the way, but overall, traffic is still safe despite the hustle and bustle. The increased penalties have been very effective, because this not only creates a strong deterrent but also helps raise awareness of compliance with the Traffic Law of each individual, contributing to ensuring greater safety for everyone."
