Netizens also reported the situation of littering on New Year's Eve.

Speaking at the conference summarizing the organization and care for the Lunar New Year on the morning of February 20, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, informed about issues of concern to people and public opinion on this occasion.

Regarding security and order, fire and explosion incidents still occur in the area. Public opinion is also worried about the serious crime that occurred in Thu Duc City.

In addition, netizens also posted many posts reflecting the situation of littering after New Year's Eve. Many accounts posted information that "on the third day of Tet, a girl in Ho Chi Minh City lost her left hand due to firecrackers."

"This information has received many comments. Public opinion wants the government to reconsider allowing fireworks. Many houses set off fireworks, making it difficult to distinguish between illegal fireworks and those from the Ministry of National Defense, making it difficult for authorities to perform their duties," Mr. Lam Dinh Thang shared.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporters on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang analyzed that people have not raised objections to allowing fireworks to be fired for licensed fireworks. However, many opinions said that the agencies need to reconsider because in reality, many types of fireworks are still floating and spontaneously sold on the market, making it difficult for many people to distinguish.

The Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City also said that the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in the locality took place with many activities related to commerce, culture, and art lasting for a long time, such as online Tet shopping livestream programs, book streets, flower streets, food streets, and new tourist attractions.
