Department of Grassroots Information summarizes work in 2024 and deploys tasks in 2025

At the Conference, Director of the Department of Information Technology Nguyen Van Tao reported on the outstanding results of 2024 and presented the direction for the implementation of the tasks of the Department of Information Technology in 2025. Specifically:

In 2024, the Department of Grassroots Information recorded many positive results, demonstrated through outstanding achievements in the construction and development of grassroots information systems nationwide. One of the important milestones was the deployment of the Central Source Information System, connecting on a trial basis with 44 provinces and cities, helping to create a synchronous network in managing and providing information from the central to local levels. The remarkable development of grassroots communication infrastructure is clearly demonstrated by the fact that 96% of communes and wards nationwide have operating radio stations, of which nearly 40% of stations apply information technology - telecommunications, an increase of 17.5% compared to 2023. At the same time, the number of electronic information pages of communes and wards reached 8,471 pages, accounting for nearly 80%, and 4,024 OA Zalo pages have been established, contributing to promoting direct interaction between the government and the people.

Propaganda work is also organized systematically with rich content and effective approaches. In 2024, the Department produced 493 radio reports, 188 radio sketches and 20 television programs, which were broadcast on national channels and grassroots radio systems. In addition, more than 200,000 grassroots propagandists actively participated in disseminating information in villages and hamlets, contributing to raising public awareness of important policies of the Party and State. Training and capacity building of staff are also focused on, with nearly 13,500 officials participating in direct and online training courses on the MOOCS platform, focusing on propaganda skills, technology application and awareness of digital economy and digital society.

The Department also organized many outstanding activities, such as the National Conference to honor 120 outstanding collectives and individuals in grassroots information work, demonstrating timely recognition of outstanding contributions. At the same time, the development of policies for the management of the grassroots information sector has made new progress, with Decree No. 49/2024/ND-CP issued, creating a solid legal corridor for the development of the sector in the context of modernization. These results have contributed to improving the effectiveness of grassroots information work, better meeting the needs of the people and serving the leadership and administration of all levels of government.

Entering 2025, the Department has proposed many important implementation directions, with the key goal of comprehensively modernizing the grassroots information system. The Department strives to ensure that 100% of communes, wards and towns have public electronic information pages and OA Zalo pages to interact with people. The central source information system will be fully connected with 63 provinces and cities, creating a more synchronous and effective information network. The Department also focuses on converting old radio stations to radio systems applying information technology - telecommunications, meeting modern communication needs.

In addition, the Department will advise on the development and promulgation of Circulars regulating the broadcasting system and organizing competitions and festivals for grassroots information to promote emulation movements in this field. Training continues to be focused on by organizing training courses on the MOOCS platform, aiming to improve the capacity of propaganda and technology application for grassroots information teams. In particular, the Department will promote propaganda activities on key socio-economic development tasks according to Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP of the Government, contributing to the effective implementation of national goals.

With the achievements and clear orientation for 2025, the Department of Grassroots Information hopes to continue to affirm its important role in digital transformation and improve the quality of information serving people, contributing to building a modern and transparent information society. - Director Nguyen Van Tao commented.

At the Conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility of the leaders and staff of the Department of Information and Communications, and commended the results that the Department has achieved in recent times, especially in building and operating the source information system, connecting information from the Government to grassroots levels.

According to the Deputy Minister, the grassroots information sector has a very large scope and scope of management, with more than 10,000 radio stations and more than 200,000 grassroots propagandists. This affirms the important role of the Grassroots Information Department in ensuring the flow of official information from the central to local levels.

Assigning tasks for 2025, the Deputy Minister suggested that the Department continue to take advantage of existing advantages to raise awareness of authorities at all levels about the role of grassroots information, thereby promoting interest and prioritizing resource allocation for this field and closely coordinating with localities to organize training and professional development for staff, while urging localities to complete the connection of central source information systems with local ones.

With the advantage of being a close-to-the-people information channel, the Department needs to innovate the way of organizing communication campaigns at the grassroots level, increasing the effectiveness of propaganda based on diversifying communication products posted and broadcast on many information transmission media, creating attraction and persuasion for the people. At the same time, the Department needs to focus on stabilizing the organization, streamlining the apparatus, maintaining a serious working spirit and performing well the assigned tasks./.
