Faced with the complicated developments of floods in Ha Hoa district, many people in Viet Tri city and Phu Tho town have called for donations of necessities and necessary relief supplies to support people in severely flooded communes in Ha Hoa.
Hien Luong commune submerged in water.
On the morning of September 10, Ms. Phung Thi Thu Huong (owner of Bau Pizza restaurant chain) in Duu Lau ward, Viet Tri city, on her personal Facebook page called on everyone to join hands to help people in Ha Hoa and Cam Khe districts who are coping with heavy rain, flooding and rising river water. After a few hours of calling, she collected more than 10 tons of goods including water, bread, life jackets and other necessities. At exactly 1:00 p.m. the same day, she and the relief convoy departed from Viet Tri to Ha Hoa under the guidance of the provincial police force, supporting necessities directly to the people in the district.
From an appeal on her personal Facebook, Ms. Huong received many kind hearts wanting to help Ha Hoa.
Ms. Huong shared: “When I received information about the flood situation in Ha Hoa, many residential areas and residential areas were submerged in water, I contacted the district authorities and called on my friends, relatives and customers to join hands to support. Fortunately, I also received support and companionship from the transport unit and the authorities, so the relief work was carried out quickly, promptly and safely. Through that, we can see the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the people of Viet Tri in general and Phu Tho province in particular. Tomorrow, we will go back to the road to support the people of Cam Khe district”.
One of the trucks carrying necessities departed from Viet Tri to Ha Hoa in the early afternoon of September 10.
Also this afternoon, a convoy of vehicles from Phu Tho City residents, represented by Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong (owner of Lavender Studio) in Au Co Ward and Ms. Lien Van in Hung Vuong Ward, Phu Tho City, brought milk, instant noodles, bread, dry food, water, life jackets... to the people of Hien Luong Commune. Ms. Duong said that within just a few hours of calling, many necessities from everywhere were sent to her house, many kind-hearted people sponsored vehicles, necessary relief supplies and accompanied her to help the people.
People of Phu Tho town gathered life jackets to transport relief to Ha Hoa.
“I also did not expect that I would receive support from so many people just by posting a small message on social media. That made me very touched, seeing the hearts of the town's people towards their fellow countrymen in Ha Hoa. When the local government took me to the scene to provide relief, witnessing with my own eyes the consequences of the storm and flood that were causing the people here, I and everyone else were truly heartbroken and even more moved when we did practical things when the people needed it most." - Ms. Duong shared.
Ms. Duong shared photos of this afternoon's relief trip to Hien Luong commune on her personal Facebook page.
Not only Ms. Huong, Ms. Duong, people of Viet Tri City or Phu Tho Town, but these days, many people in the province are contributing a small part of themselves in kind or cash to minimize damage, joining hands to help people overcome difficulties and separation due to storms and floods in Ha Hoa and Cam Khe districts as well as other localities that are suffering heavy damage caused by storms and floods.
The noble acts that have been spread are not only beautiful images, warm stories of humanity, but also represent the good values of the Vietnamese people: the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and loving others as you love yourself. It is like an affirmation of the strength of the community, of solidarity, that humanity is always the fulcrum that helps the Vietnamese people overcome all difficulties and challenges.
