On the morning of February 27, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting for February 2024.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; along with members of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of relevant departments and branches.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee focused on analyzing and evaluating the socio-economic situation; the implementation of financial and state budget tasks in February and discussed key tasks and solutions for March 2024.
February is the month coinciding with the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, all sectors and levels focus on organizing activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring, implement policy work, social security work..., and at the same time focus on implementing tasks for 2024 right after the Lunar New Year.
The socio-economic situation in the month achieved many positive and comprehensive results in many fields. The industrial production index is estimated to increase by 5.96%, most industrial products increased compared to the same period. Goods serving people during Tet were abundant, meeting consumer demand, without any shortages, shortages, or sudden price increases.
Export turnover is estimated at 190 million USD, the accumulated figure for the first two months of the year is estimated at 370 million USD, up 8.32%. It is estimated that in February, the number of tourists will reach 750,000. State budget revenue in the area in the first two months of the year is estimated at 4,224.7 billion VND, reaching 26.6% of the estimate and equal to 144.8% of the same period in 2023.
Regarding the disbursement of the 2023 public investment plan, as of January 31, 2024, the total 2023 public investment plan had disbursed VND 8,585.59 billion, reaching 95.04% of the plan assigned at the beginning of the year; of which, concentrated public investment capital had disbursed VND 5,217.731 billion, reaching 93.44%.
Regarding the implementation of the 2024 public investment plan, as of February 20, 2024, VND 1,045.61 billion has been disbursed/plan VND 9,076.67 billion, reaching 11.52%; of which, concentrated public investment has disbursed VND 460.771 billion/plan VND 4,628.57 billion, reaching 9.95%.
As of February 22, the province has granted new licenses to 6 projects with a total investment capital of VND 7,635.9 billion. As of February 22, the province has granted new licenses to 14 projects and adjusted 25 projects with a total capital of VND 10,908.4 billion.
In addition, the cultural and social fields have achieved many outstanding results. In the 2023-2024 National Excellent Student Competition, Nghe An province's student delegation won 90 prizes, including 8 first prizes, 38 second prizes, 33 third prizes and 11 consolation prizes. They also performed well in emergency and medical examination and treatment during the Lunar New Year, meeting the health care needs of the people.
Units and localities have well organized propaganda, cultural and artistic activities to welcome the New Year; celebrate the Party and celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Cultural movements and activities at the grassroots level have been well organized. National defense, security and social order and safety have been maintained.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested relevant sectors to study and remove difficulties in implementing the Project on rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels in the 2023-2025 period; focus on building plans in localities striving to achieve new rural areas and advanced new rural areas...
Assessing the clear recovery of the economy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An reminded the sectors to implement regulations on public investment disbursement and budget revenue and expenditure; continue to pay attention to attracting investment in industrial parks, as well as paying attention to projects when they come into operation.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An also requested that the sectors coordinate with localities to thoroughly resolve difficulties and obstacles in compensation and site clearance at Tho Loc and Hoang Mai 2 Industrial Parks; and promote planning for new industrial parks.
