Nghe An changes the purpose of using more than 25 hectares of forest land to carry out 4 projects

The 18th term People's Council of Nghe An province agreed on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement projects in Nghe An province.

Accordingly, the total forest area converted to other purposes is more than 25 hectares, including: 0.98486 hectares of protection forest, 6.9542 hectares of natural production forest, 12.98699 hectares of planted production forest, 1.069 hectares of natural forest outside the 3 types of forest, 3.08744 hectares of planted forest outside the 3 types of forest.

The conversion of forest use to other purposes to implement 4 projects: Khe Rat Reservoir Construction Project, Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghe An Province; Bai Lu Eco-tourism Area Project; Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant Project (area in the reservoir area); Investment Project for exploiting and leveling land mines in Village 22, Quynh Vinh Commune, Hoang Mai Town.

According to the Report of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, these are important projects, having an impact on the socio-economic development of localities as well as of this province, specifically:

The Khe Rat Reservoir Construction Project in Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghe An Province aims to ensure stable irrigation for about 335 hectares of agricultural land, 200 hectares of tea trees, 100 hectares of fertile land and provide domestic water for 250 households in Hung Son Commune; In addition, the project contributes to improving the ecological environment in the area, creating a highlight for the development of ecotourism and community tourism in Anh Son District in general and Hung Son Commune in particular, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.

Bai Lu Ecotourism Area Project is implemented in Nghi Yen and Nghi Tien communes of Dong Nam Economic Zone. After the project comes into operation, it will form a modern, high-class ecotourism area to serve the needs of relaxation and entertainment of domestic and international tourists, create jobs and increase income of local people, increase budget revenue, promote economic development in particular and of Nghe An province in general.

Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant Project (area in the reservoir area) in Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district: Suoi Choang Hydropower Plant, when put into effective operation, will contribute to ensuring energy security in the national power system as well as serving the economic and social development of the locality.

Project on Investment in exploiting land for leveling in village 22, Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town: The project is very necessary to implement to provide leveling land for constructions and projects in Hoang Mai town and surrounding areas (such as: Hoang Mai I Industrial Park Project, Hoang Mai II Industrial Park Project...).
