The 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son province in 2024 is a large-scale political and cultural event organized by the People's Committee of Lang Son province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Regarding the festival, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung said: The festival is organized to promote the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups, spread love, encourage and motivate people to overcome all difficulties, quickly overcome the severe consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi); continue to consolidate and strengthen the great national unity bloc, soon stabilize life, promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the Northeast region.

The activities within the framework of the Festival aim to honor the fine traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups in the Northeast region in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam; introduce the potentials of culture, sports and tourism, promote the values of the cultural heritage of the Northeast region to contribute to economic development, care for the material and spiritual life of the people.
At the same time, the festival is an opportunity for artisans, actors, and mass athletes to meet, exchange experiences, raise awareness and consciousness in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic communities in the Northeast region during the period of integration and development of the country.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son province in 2024 will take place from November 2 to November 4, 2024 with the theme "Northeast Culture - Identity, Integration and Reaching Out". The festival will have the participation of 8 provinces, including: Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son province.

The highlight of the Festival is the Opening Ceremony taking place on the evening of November 2 at the main stage of Hung Vuong Street Square, Lang Son City. In addition, the Opening Ceremony will be broadcast live on national television channel VTV2, rebroadcast on VTV5 channel of Vietnam Television and Radio and Television stations of provinces and cities.

Reporting on the preparations for the Festival, Permanent Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Duong Xuan Huyen affirmed that hosting the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival is a great honor for Lang Son province. Through the Festival, it is also an opportunity for Lang Son province in particular, and the provinces participating in the Festival in general, to introduce and promote the potential for tourism development, promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities to domestic and international friends; thereby promoting understanding, enhancing recognition, contributing to making Vietnam a notable highlight on the global cultural map.
