(HTV) - This morning, the Ho Chi Minh City Council of Literature and Arts Theory and Criticism held a conference to review the last 6 months of 2024, proposing directions, tasks and solutions to improve operational efficiency in 2025.

According to the general assessment, the members of the City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art have promoted their role and responsibility in contributing to improving the quality of the Council's activities; consulted with professional associations and received comments from Council members on 04 topics of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art in the city in 2024. Focused on synchronous development of cultural fields, cultural life; cultural institutions and building a cultural environment in political and economic organizations suitable for the digital cultural environment; building culture, literature and art corresponding to socio-economic development. Some key tasks and activities set forth by the City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art in 2025 are:
Advise the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to request the policy of coordinating with Nguyen Dinh Chieu Film Studio to implement the Program "Theory and criticism of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City"; Advise the Plan to summarize 15 years of establishing the Ho Chi Minh City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art; Organize training and fostering of theory and criticism work on the topic "The current role of literature and art in creation, research, scholarship, and promotion of works". Develop a plan to publish the book "Theory and criticism of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City 50 years after the country's reunification: Current situation and solutions"; Maintain the implementation of the working regime, reporting according to the operating regulations of the City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art, improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the sub-committees; Promote the role of Council members in participating in writing articles on literature and art orientation and articles refuting wrong views in the field of literature and art.

Strengthen monitoring of creative and promotional activities of Associations as well as other cultural activities in the city to take preventive measures; Organize a meeting of the Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts in 2025, propose contents and directions for tasks in 2026.
Highly appreciating the results of the council's activities in the last 6 months of the year, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue said that in 2025, the city will host many major events such as: The 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; The 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh; The 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day, the 20th anniversary of the National Security Protection Festival; especially two very important events: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2. Council members need to promote diversity in their activities and focus on substance; Order works with strong literary and artistic features worthy of the city's dynamic development; Continue to bring literature and art into schools; Honor outstanding figures in various fields who have made positive contributions to the city; Create a strong change in theoretical activities, literary and artistic criticism, contributing to the city's government and people competing to achieve achievements in celebrating the country's major holidays.
