Reporting at the conference, the Provincial Military Command (PPC) said that in the past 6 months, the PPC has closely coordinated with departments, branches, sectors, and localities to advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead, direct, and well implement military and defense tasks, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and socio-economic development in the locality. Notably, the military recruitment target at 3 levels was completed, and the number of official party members joining the army exceeded 1.07% (an increase of 0.15% compared to 2023). Coordinated with forces to strictly control the local situation; strictly maintained regulations on combat readiness.
The Provincial Military Command directed the completion of the merger and reorganization of agencies and units; trained the subjects strictly according to plan, especially the training of new soldiers, the training results were higher than the previous year, ensuring absolute safety. The provincial armed forces were assured of their thoughts, strictly followed military discipline, ensured safety, promoted democracy in leadership, and built a clean and strong Party organization. Well implemented the assurance of weapons, equipment, and operational techniques of the provincial armed forces. Office work, finance, defense inspection, and military science were deployed synchronously, ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulations. Well implemented the defense foreign affairs work, including organizing visits and greetings to the Khmer people on the traditional New Year of Chol Chnam Thmay/Cambodia with an amount of over 200 million VND.
Directing at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung praised the spirit of solidarity and high determination of the Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command, departments, branches, sectors, the Front, unions, Party committees and local authorities at all levels in implementing local military and defense work. Comrade Doan Anh Dung affirmed that despite many difficulties, the socio-economic situation of Binh Thuan in the past 6 months has recorded many positive results in all fields. In particular, the growth rate of the province's gross domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.1% over the same period (ranking 21st out of 63 provinces and cities and 6th out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions). The above results are due to the high determination and great efforts of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the province.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, the world and regional situation will continue to have complex and unpredictable developments, significantly affecting the implementation of military and defense tasks. Therefore, in order to further improve the results of the assigned tasks, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to do a good job of grasping the situation, regularly monitoring the area; doing a good job of coordinating between the three forces (Police, Military, Border Guard) to prevent from afar, early, in advance the sabotage plots of hostile forces, promptly handle situations that arise, and not let hot spots occur. At the same time, leaders and direct the strict implementation of combat readiness tasks, improve the quality of training, exercises, qualifications and combat readiness of the army. At the same time, coordinate with sectors and localities to participate in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; search, rescue, and protect the safety of people's lives and property.
Continue to prevent foreign vessels from violating the sovereignty of the province's waters. Coordinate with relevant sectors to thoroughly prevent fishing activities that violate foreign territorial waters, acts of storing, trading, and using explosives to catch seafood at sea, and dredging activities.
