According to the New York Post, a Boeing 777 scheduled to fly from the US to Japan had to make an emergency landing on March 7 local time (March 8 Vietnam time) after taking off, due to a missing wheel.
Video posted online shows the wheel falling off seconds after a United Airlines plane took off at San Francisco International Airport (USA).
KRON4 reported that the wheel fell into an airport employee parking lot, while airport officials said several cars were damaged. According to United Airlines, there were 235 passengers, 10 flight attendants and four pilots on board at the time of the incident.
The flight, which was supposed to land in Osaka, Japan, was diverted to Los Angeles and landed safely. According to United Airlines, the Boeing 777 has six wheels on each main landing gear and is designed to land safely if some wheels are damaged or fall off.
