As of this morning, February 13 (the 4th day of Tet), the prices of green vegetables have decreased by 30%, even 40% compared to previous days.

Explaining the high vegetable prices during the two days of Tet, Ms. Pham Thi Nham, a trader at Lang Ha market, said that because consumer demand increased after Tet, and traders still sold few vegetables, high prices were normal during Tet.
“On normal days, many people buy, so each bunch of vegetables only brings in a profit of 500-700 VND. But on Tet, there are very few customers. If they don’t sell everything, they will just throw it away the next day. Therefore, the price of green vegetables has doubled or tripled compared to normal days. Seeing the high demand, many small traders have resumed business today, and the supply of goods is high, so the price has dropped sharply,” said Ms. Nham.
Not only vegetables have reduced prices, some other foods have also reduced prices by 20 - 30% compared to 2 days ago.
Specifically, the price of black carp, 7-10 kg/fish, was 170,000 VND/kg, this morning it decreased to 140,000 VND/kg; shrimp, 20 pieces/kg, was 550,000 VND/kg, this morning it decreased to 450,000 VND/kg.

However, prices of some items such as beef and pork are not higher than before Tet.
According to a report from the Domestic Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in localities, more supermarkets, stores, and traditional markets have reopened, and trading activities are busier than on the 2nd and 3rd days of Tet.

The supermarket system and goods sources are still abundant and diverse, and prices are stable compared to before Tet,” the Domestic Market Department commented.
At traditional markets, in addition to fruits, the items sold are mainly fresh foods (seafood, beef, vegetables) to serve people's consumption needs at the beginning of the year.
