Opening the show, singer Erik warmed up the atmosphere with a series of songs such as Run home and cry with me, Jealousy… The 9X singer said he was honored to perform in the music night of MLTR – a band associated with the youth of many generations of audiences.

At 8:10 p.m., the stage exploded, the audience clapped and shouted when MLTR appeared. The group opened the concert with the famous song Sleeping child. Included in their second album, Colors, released in 1993, Sleeping child was one of the first songs that made MLTR a sensation in Asia. In the middle of the performance, MLTR greeted the Vietnamese audience, then sang along with thousands of fans.

For more than 2 hours, MLTR brought the audience back to their youth with emotional and impressive performances. The group performed many familiar hits, the lyrics of which the audience "knows by heart" such as Someday, Complicated heart, Paint my love, Nothing to lose, 25 Minutes, Take me to your heart...

Sharing with fans, MLTR members said they were happy to return to Vietnam after 8 years since the big concert in Ho Chi Minh City held in 2016. This is also the fourth time the Danish band has come to Vietnam to perform.

“It’s great to be back in Vietnam. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen the audience here,” said MLTR guitarist Mikkel Lentz.

Despite being “60-year-old uncles”, MLTR is praised for maintaining their vocal form and impressive live singing ability. In some performances, the members spontaneously moved down to the stage, walking and interacting with the audience while singing live without ever being out of tune or out of tune. The group also scored points for their friendliness and closeness.

Later in the night, MLTR introduced the new song A life to remember – a song released before the Asian tour. The song has a nostalgic tone, marking the 36-year journey of activity with lyrics remembering the age of 16, the bumpy journey they have gone through, and the world where MLTR lived in a memorable way.

“In 36 years of working together, we have experienced our youth, 30s, and 40s together. The song is a message about living every moment to the fullest and appreciating the beauty of life.

And now, at 60, our lives are just beginning. It's easy to get older and let go of the burden on your shoulders. Thank you for all the love and support from the audience," MLTR frontman Jascha Richter confided.

According to Dan Tri reporter, the audience of the music night came from many regions, different ages, and even gathered many foreign audiences.

Many fans bring their parents and family to enjoy the performance of the famous band. Some young audiences hunt for tickets to see the Danish band perform because they are “curious about how their parents’ idols sing.”

With prices ranging from 850,000 VND to 4.5 million VND, all seats were filled, creating a vibrant atmosphere at Phu Tho Stadium.

Audience member MT (32 years old, Binh Thuan) said she grew up with MLTR's easy-to-remember hits. When she learned that the group was returning to Vietnam and holding a concert in Ho Chi Minh City, this audience member was determined to buy tickets, traveling nearly 200km to be present at Phu Tho Stadium.

“When I was a child, when I couldn’t speak English well, I knew MLTR songs from cassette tapes and TV shows. I wanted to relive that moment,” MT said.

Audience member NLTT (35 years old, HCMC) shared that he is a "die-hard fan" of MLTR, having watched the group's performances in Hanoi in 2015 and 2016. At the music night on November 17, the audience was moved to tears when they sang along with MLTR, songs associated with youth.

“Although the group members’ hair has now turned two colors, with only three members still active, their songs are still intact in my memory. This could also be the last time MLTR comes to Vietnam to perform, which makes tonight’s atmosphere even more emotional,” NLTT said.

Many viewers commented that the organization of the Take us to your heart music night in Ho Chi Minh City was neat, tidy and professional. The images and sounds of the program were of good quality, enhancing the viewer's experience.

Musician Huy Tuan shared on his personal page: “I took my wife to listen to MLTR music. Because I used to learn English through songs by the “old people”, I sang without missing a note. For the first time, I sat in the front row and heard top-notch sound quality, without the buzzing or ear-ache that often happens at other shows.”

However, some audiences also commented that the fact that the organizers did not give out lightsticks (cheering light sticks) is a small minus point that needs to be overcome.
