(Dan Tri) - On the day of their child's graduation, Ms. Trinh and her husband in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City gave their child a bouquet of flowers made from polymer bills. Behind that bouquet of flowers is a special memory of her family...
On the morning of November 22, with a bouquet of flowers made of money in hand, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Trinh (living in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City) and her husband stood in the lobby of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) waiting to give it to their son at the graduation ceremony.

Today, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology began a three-day series of graduation ceremonies and awarding degrees to 16 graduate students, 250 master's students and nearly 3,000 undergraduate students.
Unlike most other parents who congratulate their children on their graduation with fresh flowers, paper flowers, and teddy bears, Trinh and her husband gave their son money and flowers. Their son, Nguyen Anh Khoi, is studying construction engineering.
The mother pointed to the flower petals made from polymer banknotes and said that the bouquet cost more than 3 million VND, including more than 2.5 million VND in money. The money flowers were not only a gift but also a memory that Trinh remembered fondly from 4 years ago.

That year, Khoi entered university, which was also the time when the Covid-19 epidemic began. Ms. Trinh, who did nails at home, and her husband, who worked in refrigeration, were both affected, causing the family to face financial difficulties.
On her birthday that year, the mother was extremely surprised when her son gave her a bouquet of money. It was all the money he had saved up for a long time.
The amount of money was not much, but she understood that behind the bouquet of flowers was a message of encouragement for her parents not to worry too much, as well as a wish to share the difficulties with her child's family. Whenever she needed it, she would withdraw money from the bouquet of flowers her child gave her to use.
That image has followed her for the past few years. Therefore, on her child's special occasion, she also learned from her child to give flowers and money, as a reminder and also as a reminder that her parents are always by her side.
Ms. Trinh also pointed to the dress, bag, shoes she was wearing and her husband's suit, smiling honestly: "This is the first time we've worn such an expensive outfit, bag, and shoes. This bag costs 2.5 million VND, I feel so sorry!".
The mother revealed that these were the things Khoi took his parents shopping at a shopping mall a few days ago.
Usually, when asked to buy something, my parents would shake their heads and feel sorry for the money. This time, my son made a deal: "Parents are not allowed to ask the price, not allowed to complain about the high price." Even so, when choosing clothes and seeing the price, Ms. Trinh kept reaching out to... pull her son's shirt.

The mother said that since her second year of university, Khoi started tutoring. At first, he only tutored children who were acquaintances living nearby, and the children progressed very quickly. Thanks to that, this person introduced others, and now Khoi is tutoring more than 30 students.
Since then, Khoi has not only covered all his tuition fees but also taken care of his family's expenses.
New engineer Nguyen Anh Khoi said he teaches math, literature, and English in all classes. Instead of opening a class and teaching many students at the same time, Khoi divides the class into groups based on the students’ abilities, personalities, and characteristics. The lesson plans for each group are also different…
Khoi said that in order for students to enjoy learning and learn effectively, the teacher must really listen, understand the children's psychology, and create joy and trust for them...
Currently, tutoring brings Khoi an income of 35 million VND/month.
Khoi admitted that his part-time job more or less affected his studies, and he could not devote all his time to studying. Every night, Khoi had to handle a series of tasks such as teaching, preparing lesson plans, studying, etc. For example, during the time he was working on his graduation thesis, Khoi often had to stay up until 3-4am.
However, for Khoi, every choice has to be a trade-off. Khoi loves teaching, is happy to see his students progress, and is happy when many families come to send their children to him...
Not to mention, this part-time job gives Khoi a high income to cover his study expenses as well as support his parents and buy things he wants to give them.
"I'm an only child, my parents only have me. They have done so much for me, so when I grow up, the best thing I want is to give them," Khoi confided.
Khoi's plan after graduation is to continue his graduate studies in the field of business. He will still maintain his tutoring job but will find someone to support and accompany him.
Standing next to her son, Ms. Trinh wiped away her tears with emotion...
She remembers when Khoi was little, she was always the parent who opened the school gate the earliest, entered the earliest to pick up her child, not letting her child wait.
In Khoi’s first year at university, Ms. Trinh decided not to let him drive to school by himself because he did not have a license yet. Every day, she drove him back and forth between home and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in Thu Duc, a distance of nearly 40 kilometers.
She wanted to teach her child a lesson about obeying the law. And most of all, with a mother's love, she could only let go when her child was truly strong...
Mr. Mai Thanh Phong, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that this year's graduates are the first batch of students to enroll in the context of the whole country facing difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Faced with this difficulty, the school and each student must develop measures to adapt and change to overcome the challenges to ensure training progress and quality.
In the November 2024 graduation, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology recorded 27.8% of students achieving excellent or higher grades out of the total number of graduates. 11 students were awarded the All-Around Cup, including 5 students with excellent grades. In addition, 42 students from various faculties were awarded the Graduation Gold Medal.
