On the morning of September 16, the General Department of Market Management handed over VND 1,295 billion in cash to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union and, through the Ministry's Trade Union, sent it to organizations to support people in the northern provinces and cities that have been severely affected by storms and floods.
The amount of 1,295 billion VND was given by the General Department of Market Management to the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the morning of September 16 to promptly support people in flood-hit areas.
Speaking at the Ceremony, General Director Tran Huu Linh said that in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and implementing the direction and launch of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry's leaders, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the Program to support people affected by storms and floods, the General Department also issued Official Dispatch No. 2606/TCQLTT-VPTC dated September 12, 2024 to the Market Management Departments of provinces and centrally run cities on the launch of support for people affected by storm and flood No. 3 to join hands to overcome the damage, support people in localities who are suffering from losses and damages caused by storms and floods to soon restore production and stabilize their lives.
Immediately afterwards, on the afternoon of September 12, at the headquarters, General Director Tran Huu Linh chaired the launching ceremony and raised donations.
After 4 days of launching, the account number of the General Department of Market Management's Trade Union received a total amount of 1.842 billion VND from the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities and 04 individuals. In addition to cash, the General Department of Market Management's Trade Union and the General Department of Market Management's Youth Union also received many donated and supported items from the Market Management Departments as well as organizations and individuals inside and outside the force. The value of donated goods is about 460 million VND. The donated goods are clean water, medicine, milk, instant noodles, green vegetables... These are extremely urgent items for people in flooded areas.
“With the spirit of mutual love and support, in recent days, responding to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry and Trade, the General Department of Market Management has launched a donation program to support people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi and after the storm. The entire force has more than 5,000 civil servants, each person donated at least one day's salary. After 4 days of launching, the entire force has called for more than 1.8 billion VND (including 07 groups that will transfer donations on September 16) and many artifacts" - General Director Tran Huu Linh informed.
On September 16, the General Department of Market Management transferred VND 1,295 billion to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union and through the Ministry's Trade Union, the money will be sent to support people in the northern provinces and cities that have been affected by storms and floods. The remaining amount will be used by the General Department to support some Market Management Departments and families of civil servants and workers who suffered heavy losses from storm No. 3 and the aftermath of the storm.

According to General Director Tran Huu Linh, when storm No. 3 Yagi made landfall, the headquarters of the Market Management Department in provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong... were affected. In particular, the circulation after the storm, the headquarters of the Market Management Department in Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen... and many houses of civil servants and workers at these units were deeply submerged in floodwaters.
“During the recent flood, the headquarters of the Market Management Department of Yen Bai province and the headquarters of 3 Market Management Teams were completely submerged in water. Since September 11, when the water began to recede, the civil servants and workers of the provincial Market Management Department started cleaning and repairing. Up to now, after many days, the houses of some civil servants and workers in the province have not been completely drained. Everyone is focusing on cleaning and repairing after the storm,” the General Director informed and said that, in addition to the amount transferred to the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Department also allocated a portion of it to support the Market Management Departments and families of civil servants and workers who were heavily affected by the circulation of storm No. 3.
Previously, right in the eye of the storm and its circulation, the General Department of Market Management as well as the Market Management Departments of the provinces called for and coordinated with benefactors to transport relief goods to the northern provinces and cities.
Accordingly, Lao Cai province received 200 doses of medicine; 100 boxes of clean water; 100 boxes of noodles; 1,500 packages of fresh porridge. Yen Bai province received 200 doses of medicine; 100 boxes of clean water; 100 boxes of instant noodles; 20 boxes of dry food; 1,500 packages of fresh porridge and 300 boxes of bottled clean water. Cao Bang province received 100 doses of medicine, 100 boxes of paracetamol, 100 boxes of urgo, 216 boxes of saline; 200 bottles of alcohol; 100 boxes of clean water; 100 boxes of instant noodles; 30 boxes of dry food; 1,500 packages of fresh porridge donated by the Youth Union of the General Department of Market Management in coordination with the VACIP Association.
Next, some provincial Market Management Departments such as Lam Dong donated 10 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits. Market Management Department
Hanoi city donated 600 barrels of clean water to provinces such as Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Son La.
Regarding the inspection and control of goods, Director General Tran Huu Linh said that before the storm hit, the General Department of Market Management had issued an urgent dispatch directing the market management forces nationwide to strengthen the inspection of goods, absolutely not allowing hoarding and price increases. During the storm, the force also maintained inspection and control work to contribute to stabilizing the market.
Mr. Nguyen The Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Trade Union, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Market Management force for social security activities.
Recognizing and evaluating the meaningful work of the entire Market Management Force, Mr. Nguyen The Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that after receiving the donations and support from the entire force, the Trade Union of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will send it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee as well as organize volunteer groups led by the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to directly deliver it to people affected by floods. The money from the units will be donated according to general instructions, ensuring the right purpose, publicity and transparency.
Speaking at the donation ceremony of the General Department of Market Management, Mr. Phan Van Ban - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industry and Trade also acknowledged the goodwill and meaningful gifts from civil servants and employees in the entire Market Management force to share the difficulties with the people in the localities affected by storms and floods. Previously, the working delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade led by Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang also inspected the actual situation and donated money and goods to the people of the provinces: Lang Son, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang... estimated to be worth more than 5 billion VND.
