According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, looking back at Hanoi's economic development results in 2024, industrial production activities in the following quarter are always higher than the previous quarter; 4/4 level 1 industries all increased sharply compared to 2023.

In particular, the number of key industrial export orders increased significantly. The added value of the industrial sector increased by 6.2%, contributing 0.82 percentage points to the 6.52% increase in the gross regional domestic product (GRDP).

In 2025, Hanoi aims to increase industrial added value by 6.95% or more, thereby increasing its contribution to GRDP.

Economic experts say that the sharp increase in the capital’s export turnover shows an increase in export orders. This is also an important condition for businesses to boost production, especially in the processing and manufacturing industry. That means that to achieve high economic growth, industrial production will have to accelerate and make a strong breakthrough.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang (National Economics University) said that the increase in export turnover of Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general shows the recovery of production as well as the efforts of Vietnamese enterprises in taking advantage of signed FTAs. On the other hand, enterprises are also actively seeking customers, adjusting production and business models to suit reality, actively participating directly in foreign distribution networks...

From the business community, right after the Lunar New Year holiday, businesses immediately started production and business with the expectation of successfully implementing the plan set for the year. General Director of Garment Corporation 10 Than Duc Viet said that the unit has agreed on a contract until the end of the second quarter of 2025 and guaranteed jobs for workers until the end of the year.

Vice President of the Hanoi Association of Supporting Industry Enterprises Nguyen Van said that in the coming time, the city's agencies and sectors need to continue to have solutions to promote industrial development, focusing on priority industries, key industries, supporting industries, and attracting investment in large industrial projects to increase production capacity.

The city should focus on supporting domestic and international investors who are building factory complexes in industrial parks and industrial clusters with established infrastructure...

Prioritize the development of some industries with competitive advantages

According to Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Hanoi will prioritize the development of a number of industries with competitive advantages, the ability to participate deeply, and contribute high added value to the production network and global value chain. This is also a fundamental sector, with spillover effects to other economic sectors, using clean, environmentally friendly technology.

In addition, the City continues to connect and support industrial enterprises to become product suppliers for domestic and foreign customers... Activities to support enterprises in developing production aim to promote the acceleration of the industrial sector, contributing more to the economic growth of the Capital.

To promote industrial production growth, Hanoi strives for 100% of enterprises producing key industrial products to benefit from the City's support policies. The City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and urge departments, branches and localities to synchronously implement the above solutions.

In addition, the City also focuses on implementing credit interest rate policies for priority areas... focusing on improving the investment and business environment, removing bottlenecks and difficulties, especially for non-budgetary investment projects using land, improving the investment and business environment, creating momentum for economic and social recovery and development.

Hanoi City also continues to support businesses to innovate, improve production capacity, increase the localization rate; closely follow developments in the world economy, improve market information, especially potential markets; guide and support associations and businesses to exploit and promote traditional markets and open new, potential markets; promote propaganda about free trade agreements, helping businesses grasp opportunities to promote production investment and chain linkage.

At the same time, innovate and improve the effectiveness of trade promotion activities, connecting domestic production and business enterprises. Connecting domestic enterprises with foreign enterprises to find partners, orders, and markets through trade connection conferences, fairs, exhibitions, etc.
