In recent times, although Thanh Hoa City Police have continuously launched strong attacks against drug crimes, the situation continues to be complicated. The activities of those who illegally buy, sell, store and use drugs are becoming more and more sophisticated. In particular, in Thanh Hoa City, some new types of drugs in liquid form called "happy water" and "happy water" have appeared.

Faced with the complicated developments of crime and drug abuse, Thanh Hoa City Police have focused on directing and synchronously deploying professional measures, continuously fighting to eradicate 3 cases, arresting 6 subjects buying, selling and organizing illegal use of drugs.
Typically, at around 5:40 a.m. on July 30, 2023, at a motel in Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa City Police caught Nguyen Van Hung (aka Hung "Xo"), born in 1976, residing in Dong Tan ward, Thanh Hoa city, selling drugs, and seized 19 pink pills.
Then, at around 12 o'clock the same day, Thanh Hoa City Police and Dong Ve Ward Police busted a drug trafficking ring, arresting 3 subjects including: Ha The Hiep, born in 2001, residing in Dong Huong Ward; Pham Hoang Son, born in 1993, residing in Phu Son Ward (Thanh Hoa City) and Tran Thi Nhi, born in 1997, residing in Hai Thuong Ward, Nghi Son Town; confiscating 73 pink pills, 12 ecstasy pills, 11 ketamine packages, 2 crystal meth packages and many other related objects and documents.
In particular, through investigation and situation assessment, Thanh Hoa City Police identified a group of young people who regularly organized illegal drug use in apartment buildings. Using professional measures, at about 2:30 p.m. on August 1, 2023, Thanh Hoa City Police suddenly inspected and caught 8 young people from many different provinces and cities illegally using drugs in an apartment in building C, Tecco apartment building, Dong Ve ward, Thanh Hoa city.
Through rapid testing, 7/8 subjects tested positive for drugs. The seized evidence included 1 package of ketamine, 2 bottles containing yellow liquid that the subjects called “happy water”, “happy water” and drug paraphernalia, speakers, LED lights, etc. Currently, the City Police have temporarily detained 2 subjects for further investigation.

Thanh Hoa City Police warned people about some new types of drugs appearing in the city. Among them, there is a possibility that “happy water” and “happy water” are new types of drugs mixed from many synthetic drugs such as MDMA, ketamine, diazepam. This type of drug can be dissolved in water like soft drinks, when consumed it will cause strong hallucinations, and can even be life-threatening if used too much.
Notably, these drugs are disguised as soft drinks, if consumed in schools or entertainment areas, they will be very dangerous, causing unpredictable harm. Therefore, all citizens need to raise their vigilance, raise their awareness of the harmful effects of drugs to prevent them, and at the same time actively participate in preventing, fighting, denouncing crimes, drug abuse; propagating, managing, and educating children and family members to stay away from drugs.
