Erablue, a joint venture between Erajaya Digital from Indonesia and Mobile World, has just celebrated its 50-store milestone.
Thus, from the initial 5 stores, Erablue has successfully built its brand in Indonesia with a chain of shopping locations for electronics, electrical appliances, and household appliances. Each store has an area of about 250-300m2 or 180-200m2 with revenue of about 4.5 billion VND/month and 2.5 billion VND/month, respectively. The chain has also reached the break-even point at the store level.
Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of Mobile World Joint Stock Company said: “With what is happening, we believe Erablue will soon achieve its set goals. There is still a lot of room for Erablue to develop and Erablue will soon become the largest retailer in Indonesia”.
The potential in the consumer electronics sector in Indonesia is quite large, supported by the rapid population growth and market fragmentation. Compared to Vietnam, the Indonesian market has a population size 2.7 times larger while the average income per capita is 1.15 times larger. Currently, there is no retail chain capable of leading the market, and sales, installation and after-sales services are still quite rudimentary, failing to meet the needs of consumers - which is the strength of Mobile World.
