The flag-raising ceremony is a ritual marking the official presence of the sports delegation representing 11 Southeast Asian countries participating in the 12th ASEAN Para Games. According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, each country will have 30 athletes and officials participating in the flag-raising ceremony. The Vietnamese sports delegation for people with disabilities led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, along with representatives of athletes from various sports attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh expressed his emotion and honor to represent the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation to attend the flag-raising ceremony and affirmed that the host country had organized the flag-raising ceremony very solemnly and thoughtfully.

The 12th ASEAN Para Games took place from June 3 to 9, gathering nearly 1,500 athletes from 11 countries, competing in more than 400 events. The Vietnamese disabled sports delegation consists of 164 members, including 127 athletes competing in 8/14 sports, including: Athletics, swimming, weightlifting, badminton, table tennis, chess, judo and boccia. The delegation's goal is to win 50 to 55 gold medals, reaching the top 4.
