(To Quoc) - The 2024 Miss Vietnam contest will take place with many new features. This is a contest with a long history, directed by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Education and Training. This is the first time the Organizing Committee has promoted the spirit of dedication to the country, building a beauty selection journey based on four criteria: Beauty - Culture - Intelligence - Dedication.
Miss Vietnam is the first beauty pageant in Vietnam since the country's reunification, originally called Miss Tien Phong Newspaper, held in 1988. After more than 35 years, 18 beauties from all three regions of the country have been crowned.
Many beauties crowned Miss Vietnam have achieved high achievements in the international arena such as Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, crowned Miss International 2024, Miss Do Thi Ha - top 13 of Miss World 2021, Miss Tran Tieu Vy, Mai Phuong Thuy, Do My Linh, Pham Thi Mai Phuong, Nguyen Thi Huyen... all entered the Top of the Miss World contest for many years.

This year, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest returns with a journey spanning many culturally and historically rich locations across the country. The contest starts from universities in the three regions of the North, Central and South from January 2025. Contestants continue to participate in many creative, cultural and volunteer activities in the capital Hanoi, Thua Thien Hue and Ho Chi Minh City, before returning to the heroic land of Quang Tri to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony at the 17th Parallel on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification Day.
The final stop on the Miss Vietnam pageant's journey is the ancient capital of Hue, which preserves the beauty of Vietnamese culture, history and soul, and is also the place that will mark the first steps of the new Miss Vietnam 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, said that organizing the Miss Vietnam contest in Hue is also a new feature. The contest will be placed in the cultural environment of Hue.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province said that the contest will have many activities associated with Hue's traditional culture such as Hue Tet, Hue cuisine, Ao Dai and traditional costumes performances, interacting with the lives of Hue people, and visiting craft villages. The leaders of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province expect that the content of the contest will spread traditional cultural values, creating momentum to highlight Hue Festival 2025, the National Tourism Year 2025 event hosted by Hue. These events contribute to the development of cultural industry, creating many products to serve tourists, creating conditions for socio-economic development.

Regarding the duties of the new Miss, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper, affirmed that first of all, the new Miss must fulfill her duty of honoring the value and beauty of Vietnamese women in the country. In addition, the Organizing Committee will work with the units holding the copyright of international competitions to find the most suitable competition for the new Miss.
