Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has just announced a series of domestic and international promotion programs in 2024.

Notably, from May 31 to June 8, the 2nd River Festival will be held at Saigon Port, Hiep Phuoc Port as well as several tourist destinations.
The activity aims to promote waterway tourism - a type of tourism product that the city is promoting investment in to become a typical tourism product in the future.
The event is a series of 22 unique tourism - culture - entertainment - art - cuisine - sports - shopping activities, in which the highlight is the art program "Legendary Train" continuing the story "Storytelling River" of last year.
In 2023, the first Ho Chi Minh City Water Festival took place over three days and attracted more than 51,000 visitors. The event took place over three days from August 4 to 6 with a series of activities associated with the city's typical waterway destinations such as Bach Dang Wharf, Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe Canal, Saigon River, and Saigon Port.
Attractive activities take place continuously such as the space on the wharf under the boat (District 1, District 8), the Ho Chi Minh City boat race... especially the art program "The River Tells Stories". According to the assessment of the City Department of Tourism, after the event, there was a high growth in the number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City and the growth of the service industry of river products.
Regarding the international tourism promotion program, this year the Department of Tourism said it will promote this activity in a series of countries around the world.
