According to ancient legend, Tuan Quan Temple was established during the Le Trung Hung period, early 15th century, in Bach Lam commune, Tran Yen district, Hung Hoa province, now Yen Ninh ward, Yen Bai city. The temple also has other names such as Bach Lam Lady Diep Phu Nhan Temple and Ve Quoc Temple. The temple worships Mother Lieu Hanh, according to legend, she was Princess Quynh Hoa descended to earth, because of her merit in protecting the country and people, she was granted the title of Duc Chua Quoc Mau Hoang An Phuong Dung by King Le Hien Tong. In addition, the temple also worships Tran Quoc Tuan, the saint who helped the king fight the enemy to save the country.
In 2005, Tuan Quan Temple was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic. The temple is not only a place for spiritual and cultural activities of Buddhist followers from all over the world, but also a place to mark important events and historical milestones of the country associated with the names of national heroes and patriots, and a place to gather forces and support donations for the resistance war.
The Tuan Quan Temple Festival is held annually on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month every year according to the long-standing fine tradition of our nation, attracting a large number of people and tourists from inside and outside the province to visit and worship. In addition, the temple also holds a father's party on the 20th day of the 8th lunar month every year. This is a cultural and religious activity full of humanity in social life, an opportunity for everyone to turn to their roots, to their ancestors, and to review the heroic historical traditions of the nation that our ancestors have created throughout the history of more than 4,000 years of building and defending the country.
