Always enthusiastic about union activities, regularly caring for and protecting the legitimate interests of union members and workers... are the things that workers often mention when talking about Ms. Mai Thi Hoa, Head of the Women's Union of Winners Vina Company Limited.
As the Head of the Women's Union at a 100% Korean-owned enterprise with over 3,300 employees, of which female employees account for 94.8%, Ms. Hoa and the Executive Board of the Trade Union always identify the work of caring for the lives, rights and legitimate interests of union members and employees as the top priority. To affirm their position in the enterprise and create trust for the board of directors and employees, Ms. Hoa and the members of the Trade Union Executive Board always focus on building stable, harmonious and progressive labor relations in the enterprise. At the same time, they focus on studying the Labor Code, Social Insurance Law, Trade Union Law... to coordinate with the board of directors to issue internal regulations and coordination regulations; fully and promptly implement policies and regimes to ensure the rights of employees according to the provisions of law. She also proactively advised the Executive Board of the Trade Union to coordinate with the company to build a green park to create a relaxing space for workers during breaks. Organize cultural and sports activities to improve the spiritual life of union members and workers.
Understanding the difficulties of workers, especially female workers, she always wants to help them overcome difficulties and rise up in life. She has advised and proposed to the company's leaders solutions to improve the quality of life for workers; together with the Trade Union Executive Committee, she has implemented the model of "Higher productivity, higher quality, better efficiency". As a result, she has advised the company director to reward sewing lines that exceed production capacity, with an average of 12 million VND/line/month, with a total bonus of 8 billion VND in 2023. In June 2024, she advised the company director to increase salaries for 3,159 female workers, with an increase of 350,000 VND/person.
With 25 years of experience in trade union activities and 2 years as Chairwoman of the Thanh Hoa Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company's Trade Union, Ms. Tong Thi Tho has been close to and grasped the legitimate aspirations of more than 880 union members and employees to propose solutions to mobilize, negotiate, and propose to employers plans to increase income for employees and sign collective labor agreements with more favorable terms than those prescribed by law for employees. Since then, many welfare policies have been implemented, and the material and spiritual lives of union members and employees have been significantly improved. Specifically, the company pays annual Lunar New Year bonuses to employees who have worked for 12 months at a minimum of 3 million VND/person; supports female employees raising children under 12 months with 15,000 VND/person/day; Bonus for union members and employees is at least 100,000 VND/person/day on important holidays and birthdays; gifts for female employees on March 8 and October 20 are at least 100,000 VND/person/day...
During her work, Ms. Tho often encourages and motivates union members to perform their tasks well; prioritizes union members who are workers and grassroots groups and teams to propose support for labor protection equipment and pay attention to policies and regimes for union members in difficult circumstances, so that union members can work with peace of mind. In addition, she always strives and contributes many initiatives and solutions that are applied in practice, bringing high efficiency in work, and are highly appreciated by the superior union and enterprise leaders. At the same time, she actively mobilizes union members and employees to participate in patriotic emulation movements, enthusiastically produce, and contribute to the sustainable development of the enterprise.
Although in different positions, each union official is a skilled, dedicated, responsible person with many initiatives and solutions to improve the quality of union activities. They are both pioneers in their professional tasks and a bridge between employers and employees, participating in improving working conditions and taking better care of the material and spiritual lives of employees.
