As a near-poor household with many children and a lack of land for production, Mr. Dieu Mem's family in Hamlet 4, An Khuong Commune, Hon Quan District received support to build a solidarity house under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. The house has an area of ​​56 square meters, with a total construction cost of more than 150 million VND, of which the locality supported 80 million VND from the provincial "For the Poor" Fund, the rest was contributed by the family to complete. "Without the support of the State, the family could not have built such a beautiful house. Thank you very much to the authorities at all levels" - Mr. Dieu Mem shared.

The new house of Mr. Dieu Vem's family in Hamlet 3, An Khuong Commune is also in the completion stage. Having a new house at his old age is a great happiness for him and his family. "My family is very happy! Thank you to the Party and the State for caring about building a new house. The whole family has been very happy these past few days because they are about to have a beautiful house" - Mr. Dieu Vem excitedly said.

Secretary of the An Khuong Commune Party Committee Do Duy Minh said that, implementing the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, in 2025, the Commune Steering Committee is determined to eliminate 14 houses, of which 11 are for near-poor households and 3 are for households with meritorious services. Based on the budget allocated by the district, the locality has mobilized more than 50 million VND from philanthropists and cadres and Party members. Up to now, all houses have started construction and 5 have been completed and handed over to families for use; the remaining houses are being accelerated by the contractor and will be completed by April 28.

Acting Chairman of Hon Quan District People's Committee Nguyen Van Ha said: Thanks to the flexible use of capital sources, especially the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund, savings from the district budget and funds mobilized from benefactors, up to now, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in communes and towns in the district has started construction and repair of 56/56 houses for poor households and people with revolutionary contributions. The total cost is 3.650 billion VND, of which the support fund is 2 billion VND from 5% of regular savings, the support fund according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg, the provincial budget and mobilized funds are more than 1.6 billion VND. Up to now, Hon Quan district has completed 24/56 houses. The Steering Committees of communes and towns have been focusing on disbursing capital sources to construction contractors and closely monitoring the disbursed capital to ensure the quality and progress of the project.

"I'm so happy, my son!"

After more than 20 days of repair, under the close supervision of the steering committee for the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses, the house of Mr. Pham Van Dien's family in Tan Long village, Bu Nho commune, Phu Rieng district was completed and handed over for use. Mr. Dien's family is a near-poor household, his wife passed away, his daughter married far away, so he lives alone. The completion and handover of the house earlier than planned has helped Mr. Dien stabilize his life soon. "I'm so happy, my son! The government's concern is more than enough" - Mr. Dien shared his joy on the day of handing over the house.

Mr. Pham Van Dien in Tan Long village, Bu Nho commune, Phu Rieng district was happy when his family received support to repair the house and hand it over earlier than planned.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ly and her daughter in Tan Phu village, Bu Nho commune have just received a spacious house, bringing joy to the whole family and neighbors. Mr. Luu Quang Trung, Head of Tan Phu village, said: Mrs. Ly's family was previously in a difficult situation, her daughter was mentally disabled, and she herself did not have a stable job. Having a new house is not only the happiness of the family but also the joy of the local Party Committee and government. In addition to the support for house repairs worth 40 million VND, Mrs. Ly's family also received furniture, beds, and fans from benefactors. In the future, the village will introduce jobs to Mrs. Ly so that the mother and daughter can have a more stable life.

Philanthropists presented a support board to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ly's family in Tan Phu village, Bu Nho commune, Phu Rieng district on the day the house was handed over after the renovation was completed.

“In 2025, Bu Nho commune will have 3 beneficiaries supported to repair houses, 2 beneficiaries to build houses under the district's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. For families repairing houses, in addition to 40 million VND from the State, each household will also receive support from 5-10 million VND from philanthropists, cadres, and party members who join hands to contribute so that people can have a more stable life" - Secretary of Bu Nho commune Party Committee Tran Cong Dung shared.

In 2025, after reviewing, the whole district has 37 poor, near-poor households and people with revolutionary contributions requesting support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, including building 20 new houses and repairing 17 houses. On March 11, 2025, the District People's Committee issued Decision No. 564 transferring all funds to cut and save 5% of the 2024 regular expenditure estimate with a total of more than 4 billion 380 million VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district. The total cost of building and repairing houses for 11 households with revolutionary contributions and 26 poor and near-poor households is about 2 billion 430 million VND.

According to Vice Chairman of Phu Rieng District People's Committee Bui Van Hieu, up to now, 11 houses for policy beneficiaries have been started to be built and repaired on schedule, expected to be completed and put into use before April 30. Of the 26 poor and near-poor households supported to remove temporary and dilapidated houses, 2 will not be implemented because 1 household has moved to another place to live, 1 household currently no longer needs to build so it is temporarily suspended. It is expected that by the end of April 2025, 100% of the households that have started construction will be completed.
