On August 3, news from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that more than 30 specialized and general hospitals, district hospitals and medical centers have officially registered their need to receive young doctors.
The demand for recruitment far exceeds the number of doctors participating in the job fair.
According to the plan of the Department of Health, the first Job Fair for young doctors who have just completed an 18-month pilot internship program at a hospital attached to a health station will take place on August 15 at the campus of the Rehabilitation and Occupational Diseases Hospital (the host unit).
Specifically, this program is for 290 young doctors of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, belonging to the first course of a special pilot practice program at a hospital attached to a medical station.
Doctors have completed the program, received their practice certificates and are preparing to choose a permanent place of work.
Here, young doctors have the opportunity to approach, listen to introductions and learn about the recruitment needs of hospitals and medical centers. Each medical facility is arranged a booth to introduce job positions that need to be recruited.
The end of the job fair is the signing of memorandums of understanding between hospitals, medical centers and doctors.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the pilot program of sending newly graduated young doctors to participate in an 18-month training program at hospitals according to regulations of the Ministry of Health and linked to practice at commune health stations is a good opportunity for doctors to approach patients at a very early stage.
This helps doctors identify early signs of the disease and help patients recover more quickly.
In addition, practicing and strengthening at grassroots health stations helps young doctors get closer to the people, understand and share the difficulties of the people, and these people are the patients. From there, it helps young doctors to be able to fulfill their mission as physicians to treat diseases.
That is the main goal of the pilot program of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Sector, which has been supported by the leaders of the City and approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, with practical incentive policies (Resolution 01/2022/NQ-HDND on specific policies on strengthening and improving the capacity of ward, commune and town health stations in the period of safe and flexible adaptation, effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic and until 2025).
Particularly for this first course, the young doctors' practice at the hospital and participation in anti-epidemic activities at medical stations left a good image in the minds of medical staff working at grassroots medical facilities, as well as good comments from the people.
