At a press conference held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on the afternoon of May 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the Hue Festival 2024 week will last from June 7 to 12.
The opening night of the art show will be supported by modern technology such as laser projection, led matrix, hologram, 3D mapping with performances showing Hue City "Lighting up the heritage", developing sustainably, and respecting nature.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet, representative of the unit supporting the light festival, said that with sound and light installations, visitors will enjoy a modern digital art exhibition with the feeling of "traveling in a dream".
During the 6 days, Hue City will organize 8 series of events. The first is the "Cultural Colors" street festival on the afternoons of June 8 and 10. Here, there will be music and dance performances, street variety shows, processions and folk performances, street festivals with cultural characteristics of regions and some countries around the world.
On the evenings of June 8-11, at the community stage in Hue's Quoc Hoc Square and 3/2 Park, there will be performances by 12 troupes and art groups from 7 countries such as France, Spain, Japan, Canada, Korea, and China.
The music program "Dialogue Trinh Cong Son - Love Found" will be held at 6pm on June 9 at Dien Kien Trung stage with the participation of singers Cam Van, Tran Manh Tuan, Quang Dung, Ha Tran, Duc Tuan, Ngoc Khue, Viet Thu, An Tran, Nguyen Vinh Ha Phuong.
In addition, a number of festivals will also be held on this occasion such as the light festival, beer festival, vegetarian food festival, flower lantern festival, and "Tam Giang water wave" festival. Hue Festival Week 2024 will close with an art program at 8:00 p.m. on June 12.
The leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assessed that the Hue Festival is an opportunity to promote cultural exchange and convergence with countries around the world. The programs during the festival week not only promote and honor Hue culture, Vietnamese culture, but also provide an opportunity to absorb the quintessence of human culture.
Kien Trung Palace is located in the Imperial City, one of the five important structures on the sacred axis under the Nguyen Dynasty. The palace was built in 1921 and completed in 1923 under the reign of King Khai Dinh. In 1947, due to war, the structure collapsed completely, leaving only the foundation. The relic was restored in February 2019 and opened to visitors in February this year.
