Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Trinh Huu Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh, emphasized that Bac Ninh-Kinh Bac is a land of outstanding people, the homeland of the Ly Dynasty, preserving many treasures, antiques and relics in the area, especially the Intangible Cultural Heritage - Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs. After more than 15 years of implementing its commitment to UNESCO, Bac Ninh province has had many policies to preserve and promote the value of this representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity, such as establishing the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater in a professional direction, investing in building professional and modern performance theater infrastructure.
Since 2009, along with restoring the performance space of the original quan ho villages, developing the practice quan ho villages, and establishing many quan ho clubs, Bac Ninh province has issued many mechanisms and preferential policies for the original quan ho villages, practice quan ho villages, quan ho folk song clubs as well as Bac Ninh quan ho folk artists and artisans.
The soulful and smooth folk songs of Quan Ho , "Inviting water and betel", "Giua toi hom Ram", "Tray hoi Xuan" ... brought the audience, the Vietnamese people living far away from Berlin, back to their homeland Bac Ninh, rich in cultural and artistic traditions.
Mr. Duong Xuan Vien, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Association in Germany, expressed his emotion when listening to the folk songs of his hometown that have surrounded him since birth and growing up.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in Berlin, Mr. Pham Huy Phuong, First Secretary, Head of the Embassy's Community Affairs Department, respectfully thanked the leaders of Bac Ninh province, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as the Bac Ninh Association in Germany, for creating conditions for the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater to bring Quan Ho folk songs honored by UNESCO to the Vietnamese community in Berlin, after a successful performance the day before in the city of Cottbus, Northeast Germany.
The performance in Germany by the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater takes place after a series of special cultural events of Bac Ninh province in France, aiming to promote Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs and the rustic and delicate beauty of Dong Ho folk paintings.
According to Mr. Trinh Huu Hung, the craft of making Dong Ho folk paintings is gradually fading away and currently there are only three households with about 30 people from different generations in the family continuing the craft, the rest have switched to the votive paper craft.
Assessing that the craft of making Dong Ho paintings is beginning to decline, Bac Ninh province has proposed that the government have a support program and prepare a dossier to request UNESCO to recognize it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent protection.
Also in the art program in Berlin, Mr. Trinh Huu Hung awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province to the Kinh Bac Quan Ho Club, under the Bac Ninh Association in Germany, and three members of the Association who have made many achievements in preserving, spreading and promoting the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
