Opening Ceremony of the Folk Arts Festival

On the evening of March 24th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 Quang Ngai Provincial Folk Arts Festival. Attending the ceremony were the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Hoang Tuan; the Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Bui Duc Tho; and representatives from relevant departments, agencies, units, and localities.

The 2025 Quang Ngai Provincial Folk Arts Festival will have 9 participating units, including: Son Tinh, Son Ha, Tu Nghia, Minh Long, Quang Ngai City, Mo Duc, Ba To, Binh Son and Tra Bong.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Tien Dung presented commemorative flags to the units participating in the festival.

At this year's festival, participating units presented spectacular artistic programs, featuring elaborately staged singing, dancing, and musical performances. Each unit had approximately 20-25 minutes to perform, corresponding to 4-5 acts.

The themes of the performances included praise for the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the revolutionary traditions of the homeland; profoundly portraying the spirit of unity and heroic struggle of previous generations in the cause of national liberation, reunification, and protection of the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands.

Images from cultural development movements, exemplary individuals at the grassroots level; unique cultural values, and economic and social achievements of the homeland and country were also explored and showcased in the performances by the participating units.

The spirit of solidarity and heroic fighting of previous generations in the struggle for national liberation, reunification of the country, and protection of the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands is vividly recreated in the performances.

The Quang Ngai Provincial Folk Arts Festival is held every two years, with the goal of contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people; preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of the nation.

This activity also aims to create opportunities for those working in culture and arts to interact, learn, exchange experiences, and showcase their talents. From there, it will promote the development and spread of mass arts movements throughout the province.

In his opening remarks at the festival, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Tien Dung emphasized that this year's festival is even more special and meaningful as it takes place at a time when the whole province is filled with a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Ngai Province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025). Notably, this is the first time the festival has been held at the Provincial Conference and Exhibition Center, a newly opened facility that has been inaugurated to welcome the 21st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

With its modern infrastructure, the center not only ensures convenience for organizing events but also creates ideal conditions for participating units to maximize the performance capabilities of their artists and actors, contributing to improving the quality of the festival's activities.

Immediately following the opening ceremony, the following units participated in the competition: Son Tinh, Son Ha, Tu Nghia, Minh Long, and Quang Ngai City. The remaining units will compete and perform on the evening of March 25th. Afterwards, the Organizing Committee will summarize the results and award prizes to the winning units.
