“I still remember clearly when I was young, every time Tet came, my parents took me to Thuong Duc Victory Monument (the old monument located opposite the People's Committee of Dai Lanh Commune, Dai Loc) to pay respects and take souvenir photos.
Not only my family, but all the families in Dai Lanh hometown at that time were no strangers to their family photos with the red-orange Thuong Duc Victory Monument covered with dust of time in the background.
The Thuong Duc Victory Monument has thus penetrated deeply into the minds of the local people and has stood firm for decades in their hearts and memories.

After 50 years of the Thuong Duc Victory, according to the feelings of candidate Luong Hoai Nam, under the leadership of the district Party Committee and the solidarity of the people in the district, the arid, rocky, poor and backward land in childhood memories changes day by day.
Rural roads are paved and concreted. The newly built bridge connecting the two banks of the Vu Gia River is now bustling with traffic. Industrial parks and factory clusters are formed on both sides of the national highway; green flowers are abundant… The material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving.
The victory of Thuong Duc has entered the history of the Quang Nam - Da Nang region as "brave and steadfast in leading the fight to defeat the Americans" and of the whole country as a turning point victory, creating momentum for the campaign to liberate Da Nang, leading to the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975, completely liberating the South.
Sharing the feelings of young civil servants about the significance of the Thuong Duc Victory, according to party member Dang Thi Van - specialist of the Dai Loc District Party Committee Office: 50 years have passed in a flash - enough time for those who went through the resistance war and the young generation born in peace to reflect, look back, bow their heads in gratitude to the noble sacrifices of countless heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, people with revolutionary contributions, compatriots... who participated and fell in the Thuong Duc Victory.
As a word of gratitude, with the spirit and responsibility of a cadre and party member in researching and learning about the history of the country and locality, contestant Dang Thi Van has made efforts to find documents, images... to complete the article with all her feelings, pride and the desire to continue the glorious historical tradition of previous generations.
Compile history into teaching
After more than a month of implementation, the Organizing Committee of the contest “Thuong Duc Victory - Heroic Memories” has received more than 4,000 entries from 40 party organizations, agencies, units and localities in the district. The oldest contestant is 94 years old and the youngest is 14 years old.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Vu - Standing Deputy Secretary of Dai Loc District Party Committee said that the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee directed the widespread implementation of the contest to party organizations, cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the district.
The organization work is carried out carefully, strictly, seriously, avoiding formality. The evaluation of results ensures accuracy, fairness, democracy, objectivity, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere throughout the Party.
Through the contest, it contributes to educating revolutionary traditions, arousing patriotism and national pride in cadres, party members, and people of the district towards the heroes, martyrs, comrades, and compatriots who fought and sacrificed heroically in the Thuong Duc campaign and in the cause of national liberation.
In order to educate the younger generation about tradition, from the 2004-2005 school year up to now, the content of local history and culture of the district has been compiled and taught to junior high and high school students according to the program distribution of the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to the Propaganda Department of Dai Loc District Party Committee, Thuong Duc Victory is one of the important contents compiled and included in local history lectures. In addition, the red address Thuong Duc Victory Monument is always included in the journey to the source, visiting to learn about history, organizing traditional talks for students and youth union members in the district.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Dai Loc district, many schools proactively organize extracurricular activities with diverse and attractive content such as organizing competitions such as "Following the course of history", "Ring the golden bell", "Quiz to learn", "I love Vietnamese history", "We tell stories about Uncle Ho"...
In addition, many schools also coordinate with local youth unions and veterans associations to organize talks on revolutionary traditions under the flag and exchanges with historical witnesses on the occasion of important holidays of the homeland and country, to arouse patriotic traditions and pride in the homeland.
