With the theme: "Ethnic groups in Dak To district unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably", the Congress assessed the results of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in the district in 2019 and set out goals, tasks and solutions to implement ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2024 - 2029.
Dak To district has 8 communes, 1 town, with 61 villages, hamlets, and blocks; ethnic minorities account for more than 50% of the district's population, with 17 ethnic groups living there. Over the past 5 years, under the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, the management and administration of the government, the socio-economic situation in the district has continued to develop, security and order have always been stable, and people's lives have clearly improved.
Ethnic affairs and ethnic policies have been deployed, organized and implemented synchronously and effectively. The awareness of the people in the area has changed positively, there have been efforts and struggles to escape poverty and become rich legitimately. The people's trust in the Party and the State has been consolidated and raised.
The district has invested in building more than 250 essential infrastructure works to serve the production and life of people in ethnic minority areas. Up to now, 100% of communes and towns have paved roads to the commune center; 3/8 communes have met new rural standards; the poverty rate in ethnic minority areas has decreased by over 3% per year; over 90% of rural households in the district have access to clean water; 9/9 communes and towns have a network of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and community learning centers, creating favorable conditions for students to participate in learning...
The Congress discussed and unanimously approved the Resolution of the 4th District Ethnic Minority Congress, with many important goals. Specifically: Strive to have the average income per capita in ethnic minority areas reach 57 million VND/year or more by 2029; 87.5% of communes meet the new rural criteria; reduce the average poverty rate of the whole district by at least 3%/year. Continue to effectively implement the Campaign "Changing the thinking and working methods of ethnic minorities to escape poverty sustainably", striving for over 90% of poor and near-poor ethnic minority households to change their thinking and working methods, not expecting or relying on the support of the State...
The Congress also elected 18 outstanding delegates to attend the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Kon Tum Province in 2024.
On this occasion, the Provincial Ethnic Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 4 individuals; Dak To District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 groups and 30 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Action Program and Resolution Letter at the 3rd District Ethnic Minority Congress (2019 - 2024).
