In the 2023-2024 school year, teachers and students of Dak Ro Nga Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Dak To District, were happy and excited because the school received investment from the district to build 4 new subject classrooms, 30 computers, desks, chairs, beds and cabinets from the capital of the National Target Program 1719, thereby ensuring the study and boarding for students.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, Vice Principal of Dak Ro Nga Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, Dak To District, said: Nearly 100% of the school's students are ethnic minorities. With the investment from the National Target Program 1719, the school has adequate facilities. This is a great encouragement for the school, helping the school to perform well in teaching and the students when staying in the boarding school are full, not lacking as before. Thereby, helping the school effectively improve the quality of education for ethnic minority students.
Dak To district has 17 ethnic groups living together. The total population of the district is over 53,600 people; of which, ethnic minorities account for 57.17%. In 2022 and 2023, the total capital plan assigned by the province to implement the National Target Program 1719 for Dak To district is over 91 billion VND, implementing 09 projects under the National Target Program 1719. From the allocated capital, the district has directed the synchronous implementation of projects, of which 57 infrastructure investment projects have been implemented.
Mr. A Sut, Head of Dak Manh 2 Village, Dak Ro Nga Commune, Dak To District, said: Recently, the commune has invested in building a fence and repairing the communal house for the village, with a total cost of more than 160 million VND. The completed project has created a green, clean, and beautiful landscape. Having a spacious communal house is convenient for meetings, propaganda, and dissemination of legal education to the villagers. The villagers are very happy and excited.
Investment in infrastructure construction has greatly changed the appearance of especially disadvantaged communes and villages in Dak To district. Up to now, the rural road system has been basically hardened and concreted; irrigation works ensure the amount of water for irrigation for people's production; schools have been invested in construction to ensure the learning needs of students in ethnic minority areas.
Centralized domestic water works are invested to create conditions for people to have clean domestic water sources; there are sports grounds and living places for people in the village, and conditions to access advanced science and technology in agricultural production.
Mr. A Hit, Dak Manh 2 village, Dak Ro Nga commune, Dak To district confided: The State invests in rural roads and lighting, making it very convenient for people to travel at night, reducing traffic accidents and facilitating the transportation of goods. The people are very excited and thank the Party and the State.
Mr. Dang Quang Hai, Vice Chairman of Dak To District People's Committee said: In the process of implementing investment projects from the capital of National Target Program 1719, the District People's Committee directed the People's Committees of communes and towns to focus on selecting essential projects serving the lives of ethnic minorities to implement first. With the motto "people know, people discuss, people check" and gain high consensus among the people.
During the investment and implementation process, the people were very excited. Especially serving the essential needs of ethnic minorities, helping ethnic minorities gradually improve their quality of life, escape poverty and build a more prosperous and comfortable life.
