Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Quoc Anh requested sectors, units and localities to focus on deploying and implementing Plan No. 134/KH-UBND dated May 17, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated April 19, 2023 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring order and safety of road traffic in the new situation; implementing solutions to ensure order and safety of traffic during the 2023 rainy and stormy season in Kien Giang province.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Quoc Anh requested the Provincial Police to mobilize police and communal police forces to increase patrols, control, and strictly handle violations that often cause traffic accidents; focusing on national highways and provincial roads; especially patrolling, controlling, and handling thematic alcohol and drug concentrations according to the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.
The police coordinate with functional forces and localities to increase patrols, control and handle violations on inland waterways; promptly detect and resolutely suspend the operation of ferries, passenger transport vehicles, and tourist vehicles that do not ensure safety conditions according to regulations.
The Department of Transport shall review and supplement the traffic safety system on the routes under its management; regularly inspect and handle damaged and degraded points and sections of roads that are unsafe for traffic; strictly manage the operations of ports, wharves, passenger transport vehicles, tourist and sightseeing vehicles; especially watercraft operating in coastal areas.
