In particular, Resolution No. 136 dated June 26, 2024 of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang has given the city many outstanding policies.
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the forum.
In particular, the establishment of Da Nang Free Trade Zone (DFZ) is proposed to develop according to the integrated business urban model, including many functional areas such as production area, logistics center, trade-service area and other types of functional areas to maximize the development advantages of Da Nang city.
“ This special policy applied to Da Nang is also linked to the future development roadmap of Lien Chieu seaport and Da Nang International Airport, creating favorable conditions for the city to become a regional and international cargo transit center, contributing to strongly attracting domestic investment capital flows and FDI into the city and the dynamic region of the Central region.
Da Nang is urgently completing the submission to the Prime Minister by the end of 2024 to officially establish the Da Nang Trade Center to effectively utilize the policy's pilot period ," said Mr. Tran Chi Cuong.
According to Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, the establishment of Da Nang Free Trade Zone is the basis for piloting new policies, as a premise for legalizing regulations on free trade zones for the whole country. Developing the model of free trade zones will be a favorable opportunity for the logistics service industry of Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular to develop and participate more deeply in the global logistics supply chain.

“ And, another key point is that digital transformation, digitizing warehouse management processes, shipping tracking, and customs clearance will help reduce costs, increase operational efficiency, and support businesses to easily access international markets ,” said Ms. Minh.
